yes, and no... first of all phearable is

that being said, I would drive the car no farther than the distance to a tuner on any basemap.

I will be using E85 (105 octane) with 1000cc's in near future, but needed something to drive my car around for a few weeks safely.

More than likely it will be fine to drive the car out of boost.

Really with a basemap they can be safe and very close, but they can also be very far off and cause problems.

So the answer is yes. You can drive it. But don't boost it. Get it to the tuner for that.

Yes, i wont be doing any major racing for the time being... its just to simply get my car from A to B with out any problems. Maybe the occasional full throttle, but def. no racing

its a basemap whatever you say. the best they can do is guesstimate your fuel trim.

defintely dont even think about boost.

if it idles, and run okay. i dont see any problem why you can't drive it around.

air/fuel gauge? wtf are you using one of those for? Rice?

if it's not a wideband, don't pay any attention to it regarding your a/f ratios. Ever.

you must not have been to his site? pherable has tuned many many cars, and his "basemaps" are extremely good, from the many customer that have had thier ecu and chip done by him through the mail are very happy and the maps are very precise

a basemap, at best, should get you to the tuners.

Boosting on a base map is retarded, you're just asking for problems. I put the boost cut at 2psi any time i send out a base map.

I've tuned lots of cars and i've had multiple cars with very similar setups run very different. You should never boost on a base map, might as well play russian roulette.

I bought my basemap/ECU from him as well. Get me around for a few days, and a few hundred miles to get tuned. No go boosting on it though.

IMO the only safe way to run with a basemap is to have an extremely reliable wideband monitoring system, and at that, it should ONLY be temporary until you get to the tuner.

Question. I'm also going to have my setup finishing soon. However, the person whom will be tuning it is 4 hours away.

Should I just leave the stock injectors in, with the stock map and drive for four hours not getting into boost?

Or should I get a basemap, along with the injectors install and drive it for four hours, also not getting into boost.
