Safe PSI level for STOCK LS engine
I am just getting in to turbocharging and such, so if some of this is kinda off please understand.
Heres my situation: I have a 89 CRX HF with a b18b(ls engine) in it. I really want to slap a turbo on. I know that I need to upgrade some components in the fuel delivery system- i.e.: pump, injectors, etc. Also I will need to upgrade some ignition components- i.e.: spark plugs, wires, dist, coil, etc.
So I have a pretty good idea of what I need to do to make it safe(I think), but heres my question:
I dont have the time or money right now to be ripping the block/head apart and replacing rods, pistons, etc with stronger ones. So what will be a SAFE psi on STOCK LS INTERNALS?
8psi? I really have no idea.
Also, what kind of numbers do you think I will be pushing?
Thanks guys,
Trevor

alright, maybe i can help u..
first, your stock ignition will do fine for street levels of boost, u will just need colder plugs..
the amount of boost u can run on the LS motor is generally decided by the fuel system.. on stock injectors and FMU u r pretty much limited to 7-8psi.. with the right fuel system there are people running up to around 12psi and making 300whp.. maybe u could even run more boost but then u r geatly reducing the engine life.. with the right fuel system, turbo set up and tuning u can make about 275whp @ 10psi.. Personally I feel that is plenty out of a bone stock LS motor..
