Is that what this project originally started out as?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Im going to try and tube the front end so that an engine will still fit in there once $ becomes readily available. Project costs were WAY above $10k with twin engine, and Im lucky to have a 1/4 of that by spring to build my block and purchase the appropriate suspension. I already have all the other big-ticket items covered, except Rods, Sleevejob, and my wheels/tires that I plan on using(15X13" Diamond racing wheels, with 345/35/15 sized Perreli P-zeros(the only company to go that wide on that small of a wheel)).
The tires alone are going to run over $1k($276 a piece), and the wheels are only $89 a piece.
For now, Im going to do just one in the back, and see how it goes. My goal is to basically break the 12 second barrier, and I will be happy(thats faster than almost ANY attainable production car).
IF, for some reason I ever get bored of that, the 2nd engine goes in the front, and 9s shouldnt be an issue.

And 2.2lcivic, I plan on doing a MASSIVE strut tower brace(think X w/that 1.25" square tubing with clevis-joint style mounting on either end). And the lil triangle thing that you were talking about This will be plenty strong enough as it is, but I want it to be BULLET PROOF
Sorry I havent been on here very much recent....Havent gotten much of anything done the past week, because were getting HAMMMERED with snow. 3 feet in the past 3 days. Needless to say, Im w00ped from shoveling.

What wheels are you using that are only $90? How wide are they?
I'd definitely go much smaller up front. I have 275s up front and they stick out a bunch from the stock fenders (I'm making custom fiberglass fenders to make the car look normal). 345s are another 3" on top of that, plus you will be seriously altering your "scrub radius" which is apparently a very important steering geometry characteristic. Since you have so little weight up front, and the car is so light anyway, 225s will be more than adequate.
I just don't see any benefit with the 345s, and you'll have to do some ridiculously huge flares to accomodate them.

I think he's talking about the rear tires, therefore he won't need to worry about scrub radius.

Keep in mind that those 9's are with TWO engines. I think that in that scenario, it's feasible, although not necessarily a guarantee.

Look at that Tiburon that was in the USCC a few years ago... it only made like 600 whp total, and ran deep into the 10's.

Exactly, and that was a HEAVY *** car.
I should be able to hit 2700 lbs with two engines. Each one in street trim will be EASY to get into the high 300 range, combined, thats mid-high 600s.
Race gas, big PSI from the turbos, 600 each engine. Ya...thats alot of power.
2.25hp/lb

Or, 600rwhp, 2k lbs =3.3 hp/lb.
w00t, Im a math wiz

After a week of more 10-20 minute jaunts after work, heres what ive gotten accomplished. Tomorrow will be devoted to the Peon and some new manifolds for that, so shouldnt be any real progressions on my Sunday off

The exhaust will come out right where I drew the lil circle in the dust. The WG dump will exit on the other side of the license plate.

slowly but surely!

Oh ya, the manifold will be braced in MULTIPLE SPOTS. From the turbo to the valve cover bolts, the stock header brace behind the engine, and also the stock header braces on the front of the engine.

two part question:

1) wont that long single pipe loose a lot of heat and add more (albeit a small amount) of lag"?

2) if you wanted the turbo in the rear, why didn't you face the engine the other way?

oh and a third:

using a a/w IC i guess?

BS...that is amazing...i only wish i could be buiding something like that...

1). Itll lose a lil bit of heat, but nothing to get my panties in a jumble.
2.) A 12 second pass going backwards sounds like fun! And Im going going to shell out $15k for a reverse-spin tranny.
ANd yes, WAIC.

Looks awesome dude. That would have been absolutley hillarious if you weren't smarter than all of us and decided to actually mount the engine backwards. It'd make for a VERY interesting first drive! LOL.

Keep up the awesome work, and as always
Good luck!

Speak for yourself tard. Cody isnt too bright himself, but it only takes 2 brain cells to figure out u dont mount the engine backwards.
