for fender flares, teamprototype.com has a set of 6.5" flares now. they look straight but molding flares is a lot of work no matter what. they are pretty much the only ones selling the 6.5" ones. have you thought about a 1 piece front end and actually mounting the headlights onto the fiberglass instead of mounting them on the body? that would look sweet. but would ruin the look. if i was yuo i would buy a set of z3 fenders, carbon hood, and a bodykit. later on you could mold it all together if you wanted plus it should shave a few lbs. where is the radiator going?

I actually just saw those...lol. $399 seems like alot of $ for $10 in fiberglass. Im half tempted to try and make my own mold out of foam and cardboard. ALot of work, but if I ever completely smash one, I can easily make another set. Radiator is going up front along with the gas tank.
Here are the shifter pics:

And yes I did what I did so that I can easily hook up TWO SETS OF SHIFT CABLES. Incase 1 engine in the rear isnt enough

should be fine I think Im cutting out ALOT of metal as well. I think I dropped ~100 lbs from jsut sheetmetal in the rear end.
Ive only used 2.5 lengths of 12' square stock, each piece weighing ~30 lbs. I think I should hit the weight ok. Thats why I went with the manifold material i did, because it wouldve weighed triple what it weighs now if I wouldve used schedule 40.

Actually I know of quite a few people with rear wheel drives that don't break the welds. Although, they don't drive them all that often and it isn't the best way it IS possible. If it used for a track car I see no reason why it wouldn't last. As far as Cody's is concerned I was assuming it would see a fair amout of street time and it seems to be the most cost effective way to prevent the guaranteed peglegs he will see. I am sure he will take care of it. No need to throw the It was just a thought.

-Ryan</TD></TR></TABLE>

A spool or locked rear diff in a RWD streetcar is a very bad idea. Firstly and most importantly, it's death in the rain; the rear end will NOT stay planted. Secondly, forget parking in a crowded parking lot, you won't be able to turn the car tight enough. Not unless you want to tag the gass and bring the tail end around. I had a friend try that stunt in a 350 SBC powered LUV truck and he kept spinning into the Dodge Caravan next to him. "But I do it all the time, I don't know how it got away from me."

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Dr Honda &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I've seen guys running F body domestic stuff with a turbo mouted back by the gas tank. They work and the guys say they don't have much lag. If he puts some insulation around the pipe... the heat will stay in, and the gas will stay expanded.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

To go a little OT, I know the setup you are talking about, and I'm not a big fan of it. Sure, underhood space is unobtainium in 4G F-bodies, but it's a poorly implemented setup - just look at how small the turbine is for the size of the engine, and think about how much heat (energy) was lost along the way to need a TINY turbine to spool the turbo. The kit builder is also stupid enough to run the prototype car around on stock ECM and tell people it's fine for low boost that way. Once you drop the car 3000 ft lower than he lives, you have one dead LT1/LS1 on your hands as the stock ECM can't cope. I know this, and I don't even own an F-body like that bozo.

FYI, Cody's not going to be mounting his turbo that far away, so I don't think it will be a problem, but there is such a thing as a reality check like with the F-body turbo kit above.

So far the fab looks pretty good. I'm really curious how the car behaves under power and if/what sort of teething problems it might undergo. Frankly, even if something is misaligned, it can't be a poorer setup for getting the power to the ground than the Honda FWD chassis already is. That said, I'm sure the car will be correct given everything Lovefab I've ever seen

Me too! I have no idea what will happen, thats whats so damn exciting about all of this. Once Im finished bracing, I dont think strength will be an issue at all.
The only issues will be my 1/4" wheel well tolerances(which actually turned out to be 1/8" or smaller tolerance), which can mostly be taken out by an alignment.
I wonder how a 15 psi, two staged, 28" slicked launch will behave

ya, hopefully not into the guardrail w/the front wheels off the ground and unable to steer! Front wheels off the ground would be sweet, but Im not so sure I have the chassis integrity to stay straight during the process never know though! full cage/front end might do it!

I couldn't agree with you more. I was just saying it COULD be done. As for your little story...that is hillarious!! I have a bonehead friend that seems to get himself and whatever vehicle he is driving into some pretty funny situations. That sounds exactly like something he would say.

if I can and want to make my own fender flares, 345/35/15s. If not, just 205s. Either way, traction is probably going to be infinitely better than FWD.
Oh, and Im building the front end to accomodate another engine for future use!

i would think you would mis-shift alot and also shift at the wrong times if u had 2 differant motors. plus with 2 motors where would u put the gas tank? my advice is buy the 4" flares they have for 200 i think they cost, and extend them. i baught a set and they were sweet then i started parting the project out.
nice work tho, i think every1 is loving it. whats funny is most rwd cars lift the front wheels up from the launch, u will prolly have a delay from the lag. lol. thatd be fun to see, i wonder how much coolant it will take to fill the system. you threw ac and ps out? good stuff.
