RWD H22 project has commenced
wow...starting to take shape already
one question? why not build solid mounts instead of using them stock ones?
maybe 2....
how is the angle on the axles...are they straight?

The mounts are HCPs, for doing an H22 in the front of the car(since this is basically a front suspension setup). They dont allow much movement at all, but will "give" when I nail a pothole or something. Itll be a summer daily driver, so I dont need busted blocks from solid mounts.
The Axles arent exactly straight, but since the wheels wont be turning, I dont think itll be that large of a problem.
Ya, I was surprised how much I got done just by devoting a full day into it. Maybe Ill quit with the piddly ****, and work on it only by Sundays. At this pace, itll be done in two weeks.

:cough: Bullshit :cough:

problems I forsee:
- intake manifold clearance with strut tower brace.
- exhaust manifold / turbo placement with that metal bar in the way.
- axles angle looks WAY fucked. I forsee massive axle failure if that tire is where the hub is.
- appears you are using the entire front suspention assembly which means ball joints on the hub. How do u plan to keep the wheels str8 w/out mkaing the car AWS? If you do this wrong, the car will suffer from bump steer.

it does not look like the drive shafts are going to line up i know it is only a pic and it might just be the angle but what are you going to do for rear uprights just take the front ones and hold the steering inputs soild???? just kinda wondering

the axle location is as was taken directly from where the hcp mounts put the h22 and axles in the front. it worked fine at that angle in the front, dont see any reason to think it will work any different in the rear.
This monster is definately coming along. Seeing it in my brother's garage makes me wet
I just can't wait until spring...
keep up the good work bro

Nice **** Cody...coming along great...
one complaint though:
get some jackstands under that car. I'd hate to see what would happen to that car or the person that under it when the blocks finally give way to the weight

Good luck guys....
Do you think it will have a much better 1/4mi. time as a delsol with the same engine and mods but stock FWD....thats most likely why your doing this whole project, but I am just curious?

What have you worked out for this suspension part Cody? Heim Inner TRE and stock outer TRE right? how long will they be, same as the stock ones?
