Default running a built motor with no turbo? safe??

okay I am ready to drop my built motor in my teg and I was wondering if it would be safe to run it with out the turbo for a while and what the safest way would be?? the motor that is coming out of the car is a lsvtec as well so could i just drop in my new motor and run it with the same ecu that my car already has or would it still need to be tuned even though i am not going to run the turbo yet??

Of course it would be safe. Why would having a turbo on it (or not) make it any safer? If the engine you have is built for turbo (with a lower c/r), then it just means that your motor is gonna feel a little on the slow side. SOB will last FOREVER, but it will feel sluggish.

so do I run it with the same stock ecu that the car has already or do I still have to have it tuned?? I am just not quite ready to throw in the turbo right now until early next year so I want to run it without the turbo for now.

You will have to tune this motor from the start if you want it to last.

You serious? its a built motor with no turbo on it, its going to be the same as stock with a little bit lower compression, there is no problem with driving it as is.
