The car Jarrod Silvers displayed last year in with motor spun vertically with an h22/ ITB's...He had an a local so-cal race..i believe pomona or palmdale. Why did he choose to go turbo instead of N/A? The car would have been sick and cuttin edge for that class. That would have been 2 cars tube-chassied...raising the bar for others to follow. Why did he not stick to all motor.....the car hasnt performed good in my opinion being turbo.
That motor setup was deemed illegal by class standards, so he chose to go turbo instead. He was not able to run a nonstock driveline configuration, so he did that instead..

plus turbo cars are cool...=x

he couldnt run that car in all motor cause every series would have made him weigh in at 2000 lbs+. so it was easier to put a turbo on it than trash the whole project.

Jarrods car is very nice. He had to go turbo because NHRA would not allow him to run in the all-motor class AT ALL. He would have to run the pro FWD ( how could an all-motor car compete with turbo cars? ) I really wish NHRA would have let him run. He had a great set-up in the car and I was really curious to see it move down the track. Oh well, hopefully he will get the turbo car dialed in soon and we can see some good numbers out of him!

well as far as the chassis..i know grant downing of paralax race cars/venom racing built the chassis...
golden eagle was responsible for building his motor and pfi in colorado handled his turbo set-up
now i'm pretty confident about this info but please let me know if i'm wrong in any way
i've known jarrod for a while now
i used to travel with him when he won the NIRA pro stock championship

not doubting you one bit SLOWMEL. just curious on who built the car. i'm building a tube chassis car myself and i thought i might be able to share some ideas or pick someones brian for some ideas and different approaches on certain things.
as far as fortin transmissions, i think its a WHOLE LOT OF MONEY for a tranny that is SOOOO inconsistant.for that kind of money you can get a lenco, g-force or jerico tranny and be running 7's with the same engine setup.I think thats one main reason why John Brown and NELSON HOYOS were doing good becuase they really didn't have to race the car next to them if it had a FORTIN. all they had to do is wait for them to screw up a shift and BAM!!!! WIN THE RACE

i think shaun carlson would be a good person to brain pick about tube chassis cars and even grant downing.their work speaks for themselves. i'm pretty sure there's alot of others guys out there especially on the east coast. r u building a fwd or rwd chassis car?
well... i have a RWD tube chassis 93 civic coupe that i built 4yrs ago WAYYY before stephs. i was told it was the first tube chassis civic in the country. its a steel bodied car. now i'm building a FWD ECLIPSE. that will be the worlds fasted and quickest FWD eclipse.
anyways...i've spoken to GRANT plenty of times, not really to keen with Shawn. when i speak to him i feel like i'm getting the cold shoulder or that he feels i'm not on his level or worthiness to speak to him.hey maybe thats just the vibe i get from him. but anywho...any info is good info
