Default Quick Question: AEM EMS

If you do not have a laptop, is it still possible for me to use a regular PC to run the EMS?

doh! a laptop is much nicer. i tune idle, start, light acceleration, part throttle in a huge parking lot.

version 1.0 is right around the corner. at least they're being honest about the time frame instead of saying "next week" every week.

Hehe, PC. Look around Ebay for a laptop, or even the classifides here--they pop up from time to time.

I think you'll need to go... .73 -> .89 -> .94 -> 1.00

At least I think I recall reading that on their forum, that you can't upgrade really old maps directly to 1.00, just as you couldn't do it in the past.

lol no joke it will take 5x as long to tune if you have to do it that way.

Just move the PC into the garage for the time being

it'd be like.... hmm ok start the datalog.... do a run.... have to back out, hit boost and a/f's jump to like 14:1 under boost... blow the plugs from going to lean... take ems out, add fuel replace the plugs.... rinse repeat...

I guess you could setup and use auto tune, but even then...

Or get one of those adapters for the cigarette lighter that allow you to use the standard plug from a computer in your car.

yes i am using a power inverter plugged into the cig. lighter also. mine is an older crappy converter and i have an older crappy laptop that sucks a lot of power so it only works when the car is running, otherwise the power inverter just cuts out.
