Preparing for more boost, criticize pls?
Current mods in sig.
I have a 10lb spring, and I'm going to be buying a manual boost controller. Shooting for 12-16lbs on a stock motor.
Things I'm changing/adding
1000cc injectors
ARP head studs
New clutch soon
Boost controller
And obviously a dyno tune.
Should I worry about my fuel rail or just keep it stock?
ALSO! I have a rebuilt gsr head, should I just slap that bad boy on instead of reusing my stock head? My block is stock, and I am worried about throwing a rod, melting a piston and damaging my head. I bought a lsvtec motor a few days ago and I am in the process of buying rods and pistons, but I am no hurry to do so, and if I use the gsr head, I won't be running as much boost, probably 12-14lbs which is 300-330whp. I want to keep it as safe as possible with the stock block.
Opinions, knowledge, criticism welcome, Thanks.

It came with the stock one and I don't have any interest in dropping a couple hundred for a ported one
I do see a 68mm blackworks TB on craigslist, would I benefit from that? **** just remembered I need a MAP Sensor too -_-

Re: Preparing for more boost, criticize pls?
if youre reluctant to buy a skunk2 im, would u buy a vtec conversion kit?
if not stay ls. on average a ls hits 300whp at 14psi. u can save money for your lsvtec build by staying ls for now.
a 10psi ls is pretty quick

A conversion kit consists of a head gasket, sandwich plate, a plug and the oil line? I planned on buying the plate and hg separately, and I have the line already, unless i'm missing something?

cool. I wish I had my motor here with me so I can understand the gsr head better.
So there is only one oil line feeding into the block, and is that it for oil lines? The guy I bought the motor from said I have to buy an oil pressure switch, will oil be routed to this?
Last but not least, my ecu is currently chipped. Will I need to buy a vtec ecu kit or anything of that nature before I bring it to be dyno tuned?

alright so will I have to wire anything for vtec? I was under the assumption I have to wire the vtec to the ecu, plus do something with the knock sensor. know I have more research to do, I think I only have to solder a couple plugs from the gsr harness I got, not too sure yet, my motor is ob1 and the harness i got with the motor is obd2

Re: Preparing for more boost, criticize pls?
so i've read concluded this kit needs to be installed into my p75 in order to run vtec.

Also i'm guessing I have to wire it like so? but this image doesnt go into detail.

Which turbo are you running? That makes a big difference in your plans.
-keep the stock fuel rail
-get a 3bar MAP
-convert to LS/VTEC and port the stock GSR IM...take the butterflies out and clean it up with a dremel (the cheap way to make something similar to the Skunk2)
-reliable boost controller
-retune ... if you have access to E85, that adds a bit more safety into the equation (since its ~106oct)
