Default power hungry and one a bugdet...need help

ok i know a little something about turbos but not every detail...also never turboed anything. i bought a 94 coupe pulled my b16 from my crx and dropped it in. Now i have the diff in weight, the car seems to slow. i have a like new 1g dsm turbo, I don't have a goal for power really... Well after i researched a bit i'm startin to think the turbo is goin to be to small. i guess i'm looking for about 230hp if i get more great. I would like to push at least 8 psi on a stock b16 and ecu.. i have a 255 fuel pump, aem fpr but idk if its goin to be enough.. just need some tips on if i'm good, bad, or ugly? lol from what i hear it should spool fast, but not being enough for 8000rpms. please help i'm super nerves about the turbo

probably not the best turbo for that motor. you will need some bigger injectors, and a tune for the motor to last.

Turbo and no tune won't work for long, if at all. You will need some kind of fuel managment. Not just a bigger fuel pump and injectors. Hondata, Crome, Neptune etc.

I was under the impression that the o2 senor should fix most of the fuel issue since i'm not runnin much boost. gettin the car tuned is on my todo list but.... i need money for that i would love to do it myself but i can't seem to understand the way the ign and fuel maps work.. i could go back a grab the injectors off the car... so is this turbo even worth trying just for the hell of it? I really am a N/A guy but this car is just too heavy.

This turbo will, work, and in fact will be a very nice low boost street setup with fast spool and nice flat tuorque curve. However there are several obsticals that you MUST condsider. First and formost, you need a reputable tuner and software for a tune (uberdata, neptune, chrome, those are amung the cheapest) second, you will need to figure out the manifold situation as the 14b has a funky turbine flange. Injectors are a must, DSM 450cc off a junker DSM shouldnt be hard to find and cost about 80 bucks here on h-t at the most. A resistor box will be needed and those are dirt cheap. Pcik yourself up a e-bay intercooler, , DSM BOV, some oil lines from stan at Fast-turbo.com and you will be almost set. K-teller has great prices on DO it yourself intercooler pipes so I would imagine you could make this project run for under 1300 bucks

The 1g DSM turbo (14b) will spool rapidly on your engine, but die off in the top end because it simply cannot supply enough air flow for a high revving engine like the B16. I suggest reading into the Forced Induction FAQ a bit more before jumping into anything.

i got the dsm mani, turbo, injectors and intercooler all for 50 bucks..... i should just need a bov and piping...... I ll start diving in on the chrome, and uberdata tonite. i was afraid of the turbo not being able to push air up to 8000 rpms but i'm goin to give it a shot for now....first time turboing something so i have to start some where and work up

thanks for the help

the DSM manifold will not work with the b16a head. You must get a custom manifold with the appropriate flange for the turbo, or run an adaptor plate. I would also suggest a larger intercooler, as the dsm side mount is not very efficient.
