Default B16 Turbo question for future build

New to HT

right now i have a 01 civic ex 4dr but i plan on selling it this summer to start a 6th gen coupe b16 turbo build.

the build is going to be with stock internals, mayb IM/TB upgrades down the road. but stock b16, 660 injectors waldbro 255 fuel pump AEM EMS and the turbo kit /w full 3in. exhaust(downpipe)

my power goals for the setup is going to be the high 200's like 275-295.

i was looking at turbo possibility i have most of the the kit/fuel system planned out. just now sure what turbo.

couple obvious choices the .50trim/.57trim t3/to4e. but idk i want something dif then the norm. i want power 2 last high in rpms(8.2k redline). for spool time i dont want something that spools really quick cause i dont wna be dd'n n hittin boost during norm driving. but i dont want something that hit full boost at like 5k n has power 2 10k. i want full power till mayb like 7.5.

i read in another post about the GT3251e(i think it was this one) which is a lil more expensive but i heard its a very good turbo for a b18 setup. wit a decent spool plus lasting power

price aint to much of a big deal. i just want it to be right for my goals is what is most important

ive been reading up for the past 5 months doing alot of reasearch( coming from not knowing anything. yes anything lol) i wna making sure i do this build perfect the first time.

Thank for any info!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gt30r, This turbo is a great unit. It will give you more power then you want on the stock engine and when you do a little work to the engine it will be there to make good useable/fun power. This is probably one of my favorite turbos for a fun street honda.

what kind of spool time are you looking at on a b16...what rpm does boost start to drop

i would imagine full spool would be around 4500-5000 rpm and boost would't drop off with that turbo

can any1 back him up on the gt30r spool time??

can some1 post the spool times on .50.57 trims t3/t4

any extra info/input that any1 wants to add on any other turbos would be greatly appreciated.

this project aint starting till afta i sell my car in early summer so i have plenty of time to get this right. so please throw any info you guys got to me. ive been a sponge for the past 6-7 months trying to learn all i can for this build.

I have a b16, and have a t3/t03e 57 trim 63a/r, but have a 76 trim stage 5 exh wheel. boost starts building @ 4600 rpms, and I reach 10 psi @ 5600.

I absolutely love the powerband this way, call me weird, but I like how easy it is to stay out of boost in the lower rpm range when I drive on the street.

^^That is what I'm shooting for. It might have more lag, but for a dd it will be nice being able to stay out of boost

I gt30r is a bit big for his power goals.

I think even the t3to4e is too big exspecialy the 57 trim.

The gt28 is something you should look into and it should have a quick spool time too just what you are looking for. This and 1.75 hot and 2.25 cold side intercooler pipe with a 18x6x3 inch intercooler would be a perfect set up for your power goal with maximum efficiency and spool time.

I am sure a t3/t04e 57 trim with a stage 3 exh wheel, would spool close to the range you want and have the capability to reach 400 whp. They are also very affordable close to half of the price of a gt30r

evans tuning has lots of dynographs, have you looked there for spool times on different turbos?

yes i have recently been starting to use evans tuning for info on stock block b16 turbos

the Garrett T3/T04E .57 Stage 3 Turbine does seem like a good option

what about other options. any1 have any info on these?
T3/T04E .50 Trim .63 ar
GT3251e
GT3255b
im willing to spend the extra penny if its worth it

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I read your original post as saying stock injectors and fuel pump. You aren't going to make it past 190whp with that setup. You need bigger injectors and a aftermarket fuel pump to supply the fuel demands the FI will be creating. If you keep it under 300 I've seen allot of people use DSM 450s, but I would get 550s for the added insurance.
