oil return question
hey guys, my oil return is a hot water heater hose with stainless braided cover. i just need it to last me til my new line gets in from summit. i wanted to be able to to take my car to the track tomorow, but idk if its a good idea. i dont wanna push my car and cause problems if its possible.
also, my return isnt completely downhill where it reaches the pan. it flattens out and the bung is about an inch long(which isnt straight). will this cause problems and lead to oil not gettin into the pan?i check my oil regularly and its been stayin the same. when i took the return line off last nite after running it a little bit of oil came out of the hose, is that a problem or is it just normal?
although the return line is gravity fed it seems liek the turbo would be pushing the oil at a little bit...or am i wrong?

Re: oil return question (donkiman)
i mean i can see where it'd be better to be goin downhill more, but its flat if anything so i think i'll be fine.
any problem with takin it to the track with water heater hose?

Actually there should be almost no pressure. The drain is gravity-powered.
Although it is ideal to have a perfectly straight line, almost everyone has 90° of turn in the line because it has to go into the pan. As long as the fitting is above the oil level in the engine, the bend is smooth, it is of sufficient size, and doesn't go up against gravity at any point, then you will be fine.

Re: oil return question (beepy)
mine doesn't go up against gravity, but im curious to what this would cause?all the oil would just accumulate in the line and eventually go back to the turbo?what would that cause?
