Default oil return question...new method???

i bought a rubber oil return line with flame resistant outside layer. I went over to austin performance to get the fittings for the oil return and they gave me 2 barbed 45 degree fittings from earls and 1 1/2" to -10 adapter. I am getting my flange soon and i already have a tapped oil pan. Will the barbed fittings hold my oil pressure? They said they were good up to 300 psi of pressure. thanks

there is no oil pressur ein the oil return, only thing you gotta worry about is if its gonna be able to handle the heat and contaminiation from the oil, i'd suggest a SS braided line anwyasy, that way it will be protected from sharp objects or any objects that may split open a rubber hose

this hose is made to withstand flame so i don't think heat will hurt it, but u think ss will really be better?

Yes that hose is fine. It's actually good for pretty much everything but brakes. Really the only thing that the SS line has going for it over that (besides looks) is that it's obviously very resistant to sharp objects. Plus the socketless hose and fittings are a little bit cheaper.

SS , looks nicer . shouldnt be to expensive , its less than a foot . you already got your oil pan tapped ? do you have the downpipe also ? make sure the fitting on the oil pan doesnt get in the way of the downpipe or you might have to move the fitting .

SS line is nice, however there is still rubber inside that can and will vulcanize over time. There is however a kevlar material instead of rubber which may even be more flexible. I think Goodridge sells it.

ok, i got my oil pan today!
The welded flange is already at a 45 degree angle and my -10 hose fits the fitting...
do i just clamp the hose on?? Will this hold? The flange that is on it doesn't have threads, it's just a -10 tube.
thanks
Joe

yes you can use a regular hose clamp . there is no pressure goin through it so one on each end should be kewl . you got all of your parts for the kit yet ?

My tial wastegate and vacuum nipple should be on it's way from dallas.
My oil return flange should be ordered and arrived tommorow.
My oil return fittings will be picked up tommorow.
After that, I will need to get my i/c modded and dump tube made and then it'll be ready!
