Default Oil return question

Without taking my oil pan back out....

Can anyone tell me about where the oil level sits in the pan? I have my fitting welded in only about an inch from the top of the pan. I took my oil drain tube off the turbo at one point to put some insulating Fyrejacket on it a while back and i was surprised to find oil drain out of it--only a little bit is all. I was concerned that the oil level was up over my return hole a bit. Is that normal for it to sit a bit high with the car having been sitting a while not running?

Just curious in case my oil burning issue turns out to be a turbo seal as that would be a good reason for it!!

thanks

Just take a look at where the dipstick sits when the pan is off. That should give you the exact indication where the oil would sit at rest. Given when the engine is running, well, thats a whole other story.
Also I remember seeing somewhere that the dump bung should be about .75" from the top of the pan.
