Default Oil Return line *help*

UPDATE SCROLL DOWN FOR NEW PICS

Ok so I'm not to sure which way to do this. The problem that I'm running into is the my oil return fitting is about 4 inch's away from my oil pan fitting, and it's almost even with it. My Turbo sits really low, and I'm worried about the line not being a good enough slope. Plus the line would have fittings on it too right? I have a Striaght -10 fitting and also a 45 degree -10 fitting, i could use either or coming off the turbo.

Please let me know what you guys think would be the best way to do it.

Here are some pics,

I had a similar problem... I was able to ghetto-fit it but it wasn't pretty. I ended up relocating my drain so I could have a decent length line that worked much better.

What I would recommend is getting a premade line. Those lines you assemble yourself aren't flexible enough because the fittings have to be so much longer. Since a premade line has compressed fittings, it gives you a little more hose and less fitting which will flex a little better.

atpturbo.com sells them, you just need to how what length you need and what angle fittings.

Oh btw, I think I bought nearly every -10AN hose end and -10AN to 1/2" NPT adapter from Aeroquip trying to figure this out! I bought the Aeroquip quiklock hose (blue stuff), and it isn't terribly flexible. Plain rubber hose was a little better.

I hope you have better luck than me. Perhaps you'll find a solution that I could use as well

get some aluminum fuel line and tube nuts, you should be able to bend that pretty easily.

wow you have almost no room i would say to lose the AN line and just do barbed fittings not as good but it might work. also what motor is that and what manifold are you using.

i had to ditch my alum. fittings for a barb like stated above. it shorted the length the fittings took and got the job done.

Thanks for the replies so far guys.

I'm not sure what Barbed fittings are, but I'm going to look into it. The manifold i'm using is a mini ram horn on a stock b16a.

Here are a few more pics i just took. I pretty much spent the whole night trying to figure out what i can do to fix the problem, but im still lost.

Here are a few more pics to give you guys an idea of how much room i have from one fitting to the other.

and here is the manifold

i had the same problem
i just rewelded a new bung on the oil pan all the way to the end of the pan which is the right side right under where the ac compressor would normaly be.
by doing that i had a lot more room to run a much longer oil return line

i also had the same problem with the same length restriction and AN fittings that i tried numerous times but didnt work out becuase it kept kinking the line...

i ditched the AN fittings and line...went to Napa...got Barbed fittings for both sides and got a flexible hose line that was steel braided from the inside (so it wouldnt kink) and that fixed the problem...all together both fittings and the 6 inch line cost me about 20$

See the problem is,the bung on the oil pan is 3/8 so the fitting i have on there is a 3/8 to -10. Can I get -10 to 3/8 Barbed fittings??

A local guy around my area made it for me. I'm happy with it so far, and his service is great with life time warranty. He is a user on here, his name is WeirTech.

Yeah you can get a -10 to barb fitting... or just get something like this http://store.summitracing.com/...w=sku

NAPA should have 3/8" NPT to hose barb fittings.

Thanks, I'm picking up a few different fittings tomorrow, and I will try them after work. Hopefully it all works out in the end. I'll let you guy's know what happens.

Thanks, for all the replies

Ok guy's, I got some barbed fittings. I got two straights., and also 45 degree fitting to see what works best. I'm pretty sure the 45 degree with the striaght coming off the turbo and the striaght in the oil pan will work best. But let me know what you guy's think.

Notice the hose thats on the fittings is just a test hose, and is sliced open for better fitment. I do have a High Temp oil hose that i will use.

And here is just both straights, I don't think the angle will be efficient with a hose on there.

i dont see any reason the two straights wouldnt work but you right the 45 does give a better angle. either way the hose will probably be pretty hard to get on.

what i did with mine was unbolt the manifold off the motor with the turbo still attached, lift the manifold up a little, hook up the oil line, and then bolt it back on. that way your not taking forever to try and force the line on. just watch to make sure it doesnt kink and have extra line with you just in case.

Use the 45 and the str8 fittings. Clamp them down just to be safe.
