The Official SOHC Supercharger thread...
I have a 90 si hatch. Dynoed it yesterday and made 170/130 on ported blower only making 5psi. What ignition timing would some of you that have the know recommend? I did a 3rd gear pull after warm up and it was 27 degrees.
hell yes you'll need a tune, you shouldn't be running without a tune at 6psi even.
those of you with alignment issues, I found that there is a serpentine belt made by Goodyear called the "Gatorback" it comes as a 1230mm 6-rib but i just cut it down the middle with a new razorblade. They last a lot longer then a standard belt

Just finish this a few days ago. It's currently untuned and runing basemap. Will be dyno tune it in a few days.

Hard to say, different tires have different grip limits. Basically you want it to be on the edge of wheelspin. Wheelspin will just slow down your whole 1/4. I would say try it at around 3000rpm and go from there.
Received my Alt. bracket. Installed the system ran for about 30 min. and ran into an alignment issue. There was some room for the alt. and I believe that is what caused the bottom of the alt. to be canted towards the passenger side. That and my supidity I left the T-bolt of the tensioner loose so that multiplied the effect similar to if the bearing was bad. At least that is what I have come to suspect.
This is it halfway installed. Before I Knew the belt was rough there were no problems, And actually ran very smooth with only the base map that comes on the Hondata S300.
I have been looking for some info of the crank pulley and JRSC pulley sizes and their differences. Anyone have a good link or source for this info?

@ budget racing you have to actually call Blaine at Moss Motors Tech department. You are correct the website is crap for our old out dated kits but he has been more than helpful in ventures to this world of supercharging.
this should be more than helpful

I was able to find that website earlier as well but the info on that site seems to pertain only to the DOHC kits. I remember finding a site that was mostly text, and had the different pulley sizes for the crank shafts from various models to the JRSC crank pulley that comes with the Y8 kit, belt sizes for each and amount of boost achieved with the combinations. Specific for the SOHC because the DOHC stepper pulley on the Alt. changes things when compared to the SOHC kits that do not use this.
I'll have a look for you tomorrow. All I can tell you is that is 1320 in size, and comes as a 6-rib belt for the Ford 2.3L Cut down the middle with a new razor blade and viola 2 3-rib belts
I ordered two belts from moss motors less than 48 hours ago, 3 rib 3PK1245 Bando brand belts. Moss Motors part number 051-430.
I ordered a alt. bracket a couple of months ago and when I talked to him the other day they said that they had the original crankshaft pulleys that came with some of the kits but they would have to ship from the warehouse but they were over $200. They still sale parts for our kits guys.

Got my belts today put a new one on but I still got an alignment issue with the snout pulley to close to the passenger side. of the car. The alt. I got lined up but they are both too close to the passenger side now so the belt slips to the outside 3 ribs of the alt. pulley pretty fast. I have to search through here and find out about that shimming of the snout pulley or see if that is anything at all. I have to look. Any help chime in. Thanks
Oh and incase any one was wondering the belts are from moss motors, so like I was saying you can still order parts for these kits through them, you just have to call. Don't try and put part numbers in the website, just call!
