Thank you for proving my point. It is DOHC. I don't think Honda's are that fast at all. And I definitly don't think that they are the best on the track. (ex sti owner) I just think that bring cars into forums were they don't belong is a big waste.

ah i thought that because you were on a car forum, you might give a crap about a respectable car. my mistake.
They put a solid rear axle in it in order for it to be legit to take to the drag strip. they went through the IRS catastrophe already by putting them in the 03-04 cobras.... as soon as the owners made any mods to them, they had to swap out the axle in order to keep dragging.

you're uniformed for thinking that they can't turn, yes.
Ford aimed for another corner of the market, because the car was so potent for multiple uses, many hot rodders wanted to continue dragging with them.

Wow expletive you guy's are retarded.... I'll take down the pics if you want. But damn this car is better then an S/C honda here and i drive a honda.... I'll tell you right now, i've had more fun in that car then mine.
I guess it's crappy cuz as we left the dealership and it increased in value, unlike mine and every honda that's already depreciated.
Get over it.......

what type of over all timing is being run. I'm tunning a d15 vtec-e and its pinging at 9psi over 5000rpm's. The timing on the dist is set to hondata at 16 degrees. Plugs are ngk6097 and I converted the car to obd1.Timing on boost was at 15 degrees but I heard it pinging on a street tune,I then backed it down to 10degrees and the pinging is not as load but still hear it. Gas is shellv-power. a/f dead on at 11.5. Plugs are clean I keep checking them. A little info would help?

Besides the jrsc is there another supercharger for the d16a6? Should i be able to charge or boost with stock internals?
</TD></TR></TABLE>
as far as i know jrsc is the only one for the a6, or for any sohc honda engine. but i could be wrong. yes you can boost it on stock internals, it cant handle much. but it think it comes with a 6psi pulley and that does fine

started breaking up at high rpms... maybe a better tuning program like obd-1 hondata would have helped with my fuel maps.
obd-0 turbo edit wasnt cuttin it.

My breaking up in the higher revs and boost was caused by weak spark. I bolted in an MSD and the motor pulled cleanly all the way to rev limit (8,500).

here's a bizzarre story on a similar subject.
I ran 9psi for a quite some time with no problems.
smooth as butter all the way up to 8k rpm.
(p.s. Jaker, wutr u running to make 8.5k safely?)
Then I car in an accident.. front end collision,
got the car fixed, and ever since then I got light pinging once vtec engaged.
Checked my plugs, they had lots of white speckling on em. Didn't have a wb or tuning software at the time, so I pulled timing at the dizzy and raised my fuel pressure at my B&M FPR.
Nothing changed it.
Even tried running as low as 8-10deg @ the dizzy and I think 10 psi added @ the FPR.
Still would ping @ vtec.
Never did figure it out..
had to pull my blower for smog reasons.
now it's going back on with a new throttle body, alittle stube porting, and freer exhaust.
I'm going to re-tune it myself this time w/ wideband. Hoping i'll find/fix the problem.
Cheers

i was also told the same thing from chris whitfield. the JRSC's really respond well to MSD ignition.
i was also reving my sohc up to 8,000.

This was with the built motor and the Endyn M62 D series kit. Eagle rods, Rollerwave pistons, D16Y7 head with stock cam, Skunk2 Ti retainers, D16Y8 intake valve springs (the Y7 head uses the same springs on both exhaust and intake, whereas the Y8 uses the same Y7 exhaust springs, but stiffer intake springs). Needless to say, it lived a relatively short life (3 weeks) before taking a really hard detonation hit caused by fuel starvation at an autocross which nuked the posted sleeve on #4 cylinder. I still haven't rebuilt it (5 months now).

that's what i like to hear. the D16y7 valves are so much larger than the d16a6. i was gonna do this too if i stuck it out with a D series.
