haha, I'm sure thats why they didn't "give" you one.. why don't you ask OBX for a sample and a performance guarantee

no decetn tests yet? seeing a gear shatter still doesn't testify to the lsd's strength.

I'm gonna be working under the car next week and will probably slap in a phantom at the same time. It's a lude H22a1, only slightly modded, and will never see more than 225 or so at the crank with the mods I may eventually do.

Couple questions:

Looks like I can just drop the axles and get to the diff through the cover without dropping the tranny. Is that correct?

I'm thinking that the normal springs that come with the kit should be fine for me. Anybody recommend going for the upgrade springs?

hahaha.....you still have to remove the transmission and open the case in order to install a Phantom Crap open diff modifier.........and i guarantee that you will not have a fun time removing the tranny on your Lude, especially if you have never done it before

Thanks dude. If that's the case then I'll wait on that. It's hot as hell here right now, so it will be a project for the fall I guess...

I highly suggest that you not get a Phantom Crap(Grip) because it is called Phantom for a reason

If hybrid hatch's 600 whp +slicks test goes off this weekend without a hitch, I plan on ordering one Monday and doing some "beta" testing.

250-300 whp, and I'm the most abusive driver you've ever seen.

ok ok ok..its results time!!!!

I made 2 pass's tonight and both of which where on 28+psi of boost with the 50 shot from the nitrous flowing..I launched at 7K rpm off the 2 step and it took it like a man!! car went dead straight and hooked so good I was bogging at 7000 rpm!!!

off the 2step I was seeing 18 psi out of the hole and the nitrous would kick it at 43 mph (hondata set which is high 1st gear with a 9800 rpm rev limiter) so if any of you want to run one..I would not hestiate!! I love mine and it has been thru more punishment than I thought it could take..but it took it and we still drove home!!!!

BTW best run of the night was a 11.43 @ 144 mph!!!!! just need to learn to drive it with the NAWZ flowing..LOL

do you guys think it would be more likely for the spider gears and/or splines where the axles go in to wear out slowly and fail, or just crack at once and fail completely?
how long would it need to last to satisfy you for the price? im thinking 1.5-2years..

No spider gears in an LSD, stunna...

Still not sure how the unit holds up to long term abuse, I'm thinking metal fatigue when I say that, but the design appears robust enough.

I'm going to say a cross between hybrid hatch's and XDEep's opinion on desired longevity is where I am at... I'll be driving it on the street as much as using it as the shop drag car.

I am going to take a pic of what the inside of a helical LSD looks like and you will understand why they are almost indestructable
