nah those aren't spider gears, that setup is a planetary gear setup, like in some atuo trannies, i wanna say they are called carrier gears but that doesn't sound right

I made 2 pass's tonight and both of which where on 28+psi of boost with the 50 shot from the nitrous flowing..I launched at 7K rpm off the 2 step and it took it like a man!! car went dead straight and hooked so good I was bogging at 7000 rpm!!!

off the 2step I was seeing 18 psi out of the hole and the nitrous would kick it at 43 mph (hondata set which is high 1st gear with a 9800 rpm rev limiter) so if any of you want to run one..I would not hestiate!! I love mine and it has been thru more punishment than I thought it could take..but it took it and we still drove home!!!!

BTW best run of the night was a 11.43 @ 144 mph!!!!! just need to learn to drive it with the NAWZ flowing..LOL</TD></TR></TABLE>

Thats good **** 99hybrid_hatch!! for a guy who is broke *** hell you have done a lot for everyone here who is also broke, but wants wants to get some traction from the car that made them broke, lol!!! I think this Lsd might not last as long on the drag strip w/slicks as the quaife units, but for the price you pay its not bad, they should last very long on a street car speaking from a poor perspective of course, lol!!!

I had a guy "show me" how to crack one open. I was like "WTF? This is stupid simple." There are a few little tricks, but nothing a Helms won't tell you to do. Very, very simple gearboxes.

is that an itr lsd? its hard to see the main piece with all the gears even after zooming and brightening. any closeups?

ya i was surprised how easy it was to get to the differential. i was less surprised i had a stock one when i was told it was a quaife. ya i knew about the see through test, call it a leap of faith

good grief, is that a camera phone

ok from what i can.. somewhat.. make.. out, instead of an open diff's spider gears rotating when there is a torque difference, the whole lsd rotates on the inner teeth of the final drive, on what appears to be 6 of those pinion gears or whatever they're called? then on the ATB, it has two of those rotor-screw like thingies which rotate on the gears.
