Also lets not forget that companies often times sell their products to another company at discounted prices and the second company also has to handle the support/warranty claims for the product. Quaife will move a lot more diffs if they sell a few to obx and let obx deal with the marketing/warranty/support/etc...

Now I'm not hardly saying this is what quaife is doing, but this type of thing is a common business practice. So we can't get too caught up on the fact that the infamous "OBX" has their name on it.

It would be great if someone could snap detailed pics of an obx unit for comparison with other diffs on the market.

Well, I'm sure OBX could purchase the units from Mitsubishi, just like AEM does, but they lack the engineers/programmers required to develop the software for it.

Which I am 100% certain is not the case here. My OBX unit had some burrs from hasty finish machining... anything that mattered had been cleaned up, but I doubt Quaife sells $800-1200 units with a few rough edges.

Have you gotten your diff installed yet? Have any pics of the unit that you got?

For the fourteenth time in two different threads - my OBX has been installed for almost two months now. How do I like it? I dunno. My car's been up on jackstands for a good while now because I am poor white trash.

I have you all beat, I am jobless, poor white trash, and I always end up having to sell my spare car parts when I run out of money....

Guess I should make my car faster, and let it make the money for me

Just got mine last week and it looked pretty good and heavy too. Getting it installed with new synchros (1-5) and bearing/seal kit.

FYI, purchased all 5 synchros from Speed Gear for $160 shipped to my place, $200 for bearing/seal kit and $30 for differential. Good customer service.

Also, because the label describing what tranny I had came off, I found out that if 3-5 synchros are the same size you have a Y1 tranny and if there different then it’s a J1. Just thought I’d share that info.

Dax, yes I purchased the carbon synchros. Should get the tranny next Saturday but still need time to put it all together. I'll post how it goes when it's done.

Thanks to "Mad Chemist" I just realized I'm a Dyslectic fool! I posted the other day that I purchased some synchros (1-5) from "Speed Gear" when in reality it's "Gear Speed"!!

Sorry for the confusion if any one was trying to get a hold of them. Here's the info for any one who's interested. "http://gear-speed.com/home.html" I spoke with a lady by the name of Candy.
