non-vtec to vtec???
I am set on getting a turbo!!! There is nothing you could say or do that would change my mind! I have a 94 Integra with a B18B non-vtec. I plan on having a turbo on it by summer, I have done an extreme amound of research on it and know exactlely what I want. My question is, I would mind having vtec as well(ls/vtec conversion) of course I would build my bottom end up first before the swap and the turbo, but would It benifit me or not??? If i did go vtec, I would probably use a B16A2 head with gsr(b18c1) cams.

well the thing about vtec heads is they flow better.. You will gain a little more power, but unless u can rev high u wont maximize the potential of the new head.. personally i think you could spend 3k alot better then doing a LSvtec..

by the time I would be ready for the head, all that I would have to spend is the price of the head and the cams. I plan hopfully haveing je pistons, crower rods(will probably breake down and get eagle, I hear the crowers arnt worth a extra $300) z10 block gidle, and hondata(so I wont need a ne ecu.) In the Hinda Tunner that did a LS/vtec conversion, it gained 58 whp when they put a vtec head on a turbo'ed b18b bottom end.

Yes the b16 would get you more power, but the question you need to ask yourself is can the b18b get you there as well? Don't spend the money unless you plan on going for lots of power.

Re: non-vtec to vtec??? (b18bpwr)
what would it take for the b18b to make the same power??? About how much would it cost? Also, the bl8b head doesn't have the really cool valve cover that says V-Tech or somtin like that on it!!! J/k

Just keep the B18B. Your money could be better spent on building it for the turbo, and purchasing a reliable fuel system.

i'd keep the b18b head there and turbo it. when you go lsvtec you are gonna have more things to worry about, since turbo is already high maintainence. BTW there are alot of people with fast *** ls-turbo's out there.

Just keep the LS motor. If you want Vtec do it the correct way and buy a GS-R motor. You can make an LS fast. My car used to be fast when I had a built motor, it was fun. All I had was pistons, rods, some headwork, and 15 psi. I almost want to do it again but I need to finish my Corolla.
