UberData will only edit roms of the P75/P72 family (which is most P7* roms).

The P28 baseline rom and the P06 baseline rom, are P72 and P75 with the appropriate fuel curves grafted on.

so if you try to edit a stock P28 rom, or other similar rom UberData is NOT going to be able to edit it. Scenario, say you are tuning a NA "mugen" style rom that is P30 based.

Cliff Notes: P28 erm baseline, and P06 ERM baseleine, are actually P7* code, just be aware.

So i have a p28-g02 W/O all the cool stuff in US cars. I have it chiped already and I am just waiting on my Willem EPROM burner and serial cable. This will be going into a 99si as well. What elce do I need to get this going now? What program do I run? P-72?? Where can I get this stuff?

I was thinking about hacking the P75 rom, to achieve higher redline.

Two tactics:
1:scale the rom to have a little less resolution, but go higher...
easier, maybe, but not optimal, sacrificing resolution isn't cool

2: Extend the rom on the y-axis, much like they're done on the x-axis, by jumping to a map somewhere else in memory.

I'm not terribly motivated into hacking 66k asm, so we'll see what happens. Maybe one of the guys with more experience will jump on this.

i highly doubt it. i think the problem is that blake now offers it as freeware, and originally people paid for it. Hes now in a jam of feeling bad if he makes hte 3 bar totally freeware, but also in a jam because everytime he upgrades he has to just send the 3 bar to the people who bought it. he needs to make a site where you can login based on your privliges and then you can donload hte uberdata u deserve or just make it totally freeware. i will discuss this w/ blake after our weekly cyber tonite.

 

im not really sure of the extent of the amount of users of uberdata the 3bar version...but through flash you can make a very simple login...its not as easy to update as those fancy scripts...but its super easy to write the original script and updating is easy as well...only downside is the need to re-upload the .swf file after every new user signs up...tell blake to contact me if he wants me to write the script...

i only suggested it b/c thats only way i know how to make password protected sites....as you can tell im a hardcore computer programer...

Nothing wrong with .NET... IMO...

IMHO I think there's no problem with making it totally freeware. It's not like it's a finished piece of software, it's a work in progress. Those that supported it at the beginning, good for them, but I don't think companies like Adobe make their money by giving everyone free updates every time they make a major revision. Minor updates, yes, but in order to step up to 8.0 from 7.0 you have to pay again. If you paid, you paid for a version, IMO.

I'm somewhat biased since I'm not using any version yet so I'm not out any money either way But it's not like their version no longer works because there's a new version out.

 

ill get blakes opinion on this later. blake seems to be steering away from charging from what i can tell.

 

for that... I'm willing to donate regardless.

Same here, and I will happily donate again if updates keep coming regardless of wether its required or not. This software is very valuable to me so the donations for his time and effort are well deserved IMO.

I have the uberdata software that was linked in the beginning of this thread, is there anyone that can send me some kind of map that I can run on my p28 ecu for a b16 or type r?

I tried ti open a couple .bin files but they don't seem to display correctly so I'm guessing there not in the right format for blakes software.thanks for the help

 

You know ppl have been asking this for awhile. But when you first open a rom, it is generally blank, but as soon as I click on one of the other maps, and back, it shows up. I wonder if what all those "how do I load a rom"
questions were.
