<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by falconGSR &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">yeah, i was under the impression the IAB hardware would not throw a code, i am concerned about whatever IO port the processor actuates to control the IAB - i hope that isnt connected to anything else where it could damage something if its trying to control the IAB and the IO is connected to something else.

at some point i am planning on replacing the gsr manifold with a skunk2 piece.

i dont know which ecu i am getting exactly. i told the guy (user SiFreak on here, he's sold over 200 ecus on here, all from overseas) i wanted an auto ecu, and he said he could get me the JDM equivalent of an auto P28 ecu (i want the torque convertor control for boost control at some point)

i will have it in hand on monday hopefully, i plan to have pics and details of my setup posted here since i think i got the most common type of ecu available now that the usdm ecus are steadily becoming more scarce as they are being cherry picked out of local junkyards all over the US.

also, i recall some issues with the temperature sensor on obd2 cars being different, and some people had to install an obd1 temp sensor to be compatible with their chipped ecu and code. i would expect this is a concern for everyone converting to obd1, but i havent heard it mentioned in this thread or anywhere recently...

</TD></TR></TABLE>

I'm not sure about the temp sensor... air temp/coolant temp? My obd2 car runs fine obd1. If you're going to run with the GSR IM temporarily, you'll have to wire the IABs always open, but you know that.

I don't quite understand what you mean by IO ports. rest assured the ecu pins will not be connected to anything.

I don't know anyone that is using the torque convertor pin for anything right now, doesn't the automatic functions use a seperate plug on the ecu... like a 4th plug... Maybe hondata, but they didn't respond when I asked them about it...

Uberdata is using the AC/clutch line to control boost solenoid... As are the other projects I'm familiar with. Not too many ppl do automatic rom hacking...

yes uberdata uses the AC clutch engagement control to run a boost control solenoid. he stated that a rom could be modified to use the torque converter lockup output for the same thing. thats specifically why i got an auto ecu, because it has this hardware in place. i have and I am keeping my AC so the boost control code in his current rom editor wont work in my case. cause it would try to toggle my AC clutch, which i want to behave normally. does that make sense?

i wont be using the original auto code at all.

Last I heard the scroll bars were done and the boost controller was done just not enabled. I paypaled him the money then emailed him and he promptly replied with the 3bar version. Mine has the scroll bars but they don't seem to be functional.

Any word on when blake's site is going up?

i talked to him today about emails. he says he responds to ALL his emails. and he was going to give me the pass to hsi email account if i didnt believ ehim.

i think somehow his address got put down as an account that spams or something and its being put in peoples bulk mail folder if you use yahoo mail or hte like... just unclick it as not being spam after you read it to prevent this in the future.

Default Battronix programmer

Can you safely remove the chip from programmer with the power connected? Can you also remove the chip from the ecu with the battery connected and ignition off of course. Thanks.

got everythign i need just waiting on an SN74HC373 and some other parts here.

after all the tuning issues i've read about with chipping an ecu, (using ANY rom editor), here is my plan of attack:

put stock 240cc injectors back in
put stock GSR map in my p28 ecu
verify changes to my ROM to make it work on my ecu
this includes: disabled knock, disabled injector test circuit, disabled baro sensor circuit, checksum? (USDM ecus only need knock disabled)
verify my wideband-narrowband o2 sensor emulator circuit works, and calibrate it.
make sure the car drives like stock with stock injectors and stock map (no boost)

THEN drop in larger injectors...

i want to isolate any problems before i try to control larger injectors, there are just too many unknowns and i see people going around in circles.

i will be very interested to see if i need any fueling changes to the base maps before upgrading the injectors...in theory it should be perfect right? we will see....

I Am European. so i need a bin file with the Knock sensor disabled..

some people say that the most tuned JDM ecu bins have the knock sensor disabled( exept for the spoon ones ).

so it should work in a european P30.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">00006000H: 00 FF 00 00 00 FF FF 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 FF 00

the 6002H location is 00 instead of FF shows that the knock sensor has been disabled.</TD></TR></TABLE> is this right ??

because if i watch at p30erm-baseline ( from blake's uberdate ) i see that its been disabled.. so i can use this P30 bin for EDM JDM and USDM b16 cars ???

I've noticed that 90% of the hackers in this scene have no concept/patientce for the scientific methodical approach.

Test three times, troubleshoot none, is my semi-motto.

That's how I can do a complete wiring swap OBD0-OBD1, and have it turn over first try

then you might want to solder in the posts for CN2 like I did:

its the 5 gold posts in the lower left.

being able to add datalogging to a rom is still under development.

if anyone knows where i can find a SN74HC373 in dallas let me know!! otherwise i'll order it next week.

im getting a USDM p61 ecu tonight. I'm going to try to load some other USDM roms onto it and get it going, i'll post my results when im done.

ps: P61 = 1993 USDM GSR (1.7 DOHC VTEC)

this should be interesting.

Radio Shack has these... if I remember right, they will have a T or something to that extent, but these will work perfectly.

On a side note, why doesnt your ECU have IC HIC3 installed?
