Default Need some help with tuning, please!

Well it's been a week of messing with the AEM first for breakin and now to get the 7-8lbs tuning done for driving. Well my problem is that at around 5500 rpm's the dyno dips and then again at right around 6500 rpm's. We've tried to add and subract timing, but nothing seems to help. My fuel ratio is 11.7 to 12:1 so I'm fine there. I wanted to be a little conservative since it's still 115 degree's in town and I drive 80 plus miles a day round trip. I'll try to host the dyno later when I get home, but the strange thing is that it shows detination like spikes on the dyno plot, but the plugs look fine and the A/F looks fine(rich), plus there's no visable exhaust clues. It feels like the car surges on the dyno and sometimes it misfires around 6500 rpm's. When it misfires it blows dark smoke, not blue(oil), not white(coolant), but dark black like fuel. So I got to thinking about where my 3 bar is mounted, it's next to the battery and fuse box on the passenger side of the car. So I thought maybe it's getting interference from that. Also I was think that my MSD 6a is giving out when it's needed the most, plus it's also mounted on the passenger side wheel well. I have to wait on the MSD and try to get a new to see if that's an issue, I allready move the 3 bar. I don't know what else to do. I've only dyno'd up to 6800 rpm's and things seem to look good. I made 250 whp and 200 ft lbs at 7lbs up to 6800 rpm's. So I know I'm moving in the right direction, but the top of the charts really is choppy and looks like it wants to jump the dip at 6500 and move on. Any help would be appreciated and I'll try to get someone to host my dyno plot for help. Later Allen

Not yet I was still trying to diagnose the problem and came up with this. I don't have a stock dist right now, so I'll have to find one and I'm shipping the MSD back asap just incase. Thanks for the reply. Later Allen

Well I looked at the dyno run on Dynojet Runviewer and it gives a smoothing effect so it doesn't show the actually peaks and valleys as they do on the graph. I don't have a scanner or I'd try to post the actual chart. So I'll just have to go with my theroy that it is either the location of the 3 bar map or it's the MSD. I moved the 3 bar so the MSD will be replaced on Wed. I'll see what happens. If anyone else has any ideas please post them so it will help me trouble shoot. Thanks Allen
