ive never dyno tuned my car...so this is what i know...i have to have my ecu chipped or hondated.. when dynoed , do they tune it for you?...and by "tuning" they tune it by air and fuel mixture?...

damn im sooooo getting flamed for this...but this is my first project car and i installed pct pistons and im getting a 6 layer headgasket...yes 6!!!..so it can run safely on 91 and they said i need to tune it...please go easy on me...but please help on any advice you want to give me

`thanx

Re: dyno tune (project_B18C1)
so you went and upped the compression with ctr's and now go back and down it with a 6 layer hg??? one step forward..two steps back?? Anyways....if you pay them to tune your car on the dyno then yes they tune it for you...if you pay just for dyno runs with a/f then thats not a tune...thats exactly what it sounds like... a dyno run hooked up to a wideband...tuning involves air fuel ignition timing...part throttle power/response, etc etc...its an all encompassing procedure to produce power and create drivability..

Re: dyno tune (project_B18C1)
depending on which ecu and program you tune with....there's hondata/uberdata/crome....

why run a 6 layer head gasket....i think you'll definately run into problems if you do that. There's people running ctr/itr pistons with the oem 3 layer head gasket, but have their car's properly tuned running on 91 octane. I'll be running ctr oversized pistons w/ the cometic 3 layer head gasket and all the tuners said having daily driven and running on 91 octane is possible, just needs to be dyno tuned.

Re: dyno tune (iH8RICERZ)
yeah well IMO i think it's impossible even tuned gsr running pct's on 91...

it's going to ping regardless, it has to be running higher octane...the chamber is way to hot running 91, it must run on cooler octane

Re: dyno tune (depeche_mode)
oh and BTW the guy installing the 6 layer headgasket...i asked him if it's going to cause problems in the future like leaks and what not...but he said he's done that before on other cars and never had a problem..he said that he's going to put this special "brown"? sealer in between the gaskets...well i was beginning to not trust him, but he's worked on 10 sec. cars before....so....im going to leave it all to him
