Icon2 HELP?

i just got my b16 fully built and turbo'd and some people have told me to take it staright to the dyno to break it in and some people said to drive it for a while before tuning... i would rather drive it for a while before taking it to the dyno but there is one problem. my car is running rich and i dont wanna keep driving it like that so what should i do get another basemap made or should i take it to a local dyno and see if they can just mess with my a/f?? or i know this guy he could just hook it up to his laptop and do that i think? im not too worried about the numbers right now i just want to get it where it is safe to drive it

Default Re: HELP?

Why did you feel the need to ask this question again? Take it to the damn dyno already and get it tuned. Plenty of experienced people ON the forum said to break it in ON the dyno. Everybody telling you differently seems to be people NOT on the forum.

And this "guy" with the laptop, do you trust him not to eff up your engine?

How is this "local dyno" supposed to "mess" with your A/F? If they can "mess" with it then they should be able to tune it.

Do whatever you want because you keep posting waiting for someone to tell you it's okay to drive on a basemap while running richer than Bill Gates.

Obviously you didn't give this MOST IMPORTANT part of the build much thought.

Got to agree with the above, get it tuned properly before you break something, and a dyno tune is definitely the way to go. 94
