Anyone boost a sohc non-vtec?
I've been thinking about doing this for a while now. I'd like to pick up a used greddy or apexi kit for the VTEC and boost my little 1.5. I'd like to do and ls+turbo but don't have the $. I'm trying to do something different by not having a b+turbo or a sohc vtec+turbo. I'll prolly keep the boost a 6 psi until I can afford a hondata(can I get one for my motor?) or a rebuild w pistons and rods. Just looking for some input right now.

my boy boost a greddy kit on his dx but it wasnt that quick. if you are going to turbo a sohc look for a used drag kit and then your 1.5 will smash.
drag the answer for everything

I may just go for the Sohc Vtec swap or just swap the head. I've also heard that the ls rods can be modified to work in the d motors.

i am doing the exact same you are other than mine is a 1.6L
im waiting on the new exhaust manifold so i can make my piping and put the turbo on,
but im running the motor naturally asphixiated right now and it seems to be pretty fast soo, it keeps up with a friend of mines type r

yes i had a cx motor turbocharge before and my best time on that motor was 12.5 at 112 mph with 1.1 bar.
now i got b20 and the best time so far was 13.2 at 98 mph with .46 bar.
i will always recommend to turbocharge a sohc motor for street use. it's practical and cost efficent than an engine swap.
