need help with int. wastegate...
I've got a greddy 18g with an adjustable wastegate. need info on how and what way to adjust it ... I'm a lil scared i might adjust it the wrong way and over boost which won't be pretty..(b20b) right now it peaks at 8.5-9 psi and then drops to about 7psi. I'd like to get to go to 5-6psi not to peak so high.. I know I know get rid of int. and go ext. but i can't really afford it now. ANY HELP OR LINKS PLEASE...

Re: need help with int. wastegate... (black98gsr-t)
common common common problem on the greddy turbos
i dont know why - i have one and have had one for 2+ years and have been trying to fix that issue so that i can make real power... still cant
i gone to a bigger DP, exhaust, dual port actuator-- nothing works,
i am at the conclusion that either 1) the turbo cant breathe well in upper rpms and loses efficiency, OR wastegate position sucks and its too small too
you CAN, remove the wastegate actuator from the wastegate, tehre is a nut on the rod, use an 8mm wrench to loosen the nut, then once the rod is off, you can tighten the threaded end on it. then retighten your nut to hold it all in place and replace teh threaded rod onto the WG
i did this, didnt do much good. some, but not much.
