Default how can you trouble shoot to find out a wastegate is malfunctioning...

i'm not boosting at all and i suspect the wastegate is stuck somewhere and is dead

the only thing is that when i open up the hood and rev the engine the shaft in the wastegate moves

help please thanks!!!

are you using a manual boost controller?

is it a internal gate???? if so it might not be closing all the way

and this is an external deltagate wastegate

When ur not in gear and u rev ur engine, ur wastegate should not be opening at all. If like u said its moving when all u do is revving it then I suspect that ur wastegate is opening all the way and not letting boost to build.

Wot spring have u got on the Deltagate? Try out a another wastegate.

i have a similiar problem with my wastegate not working properly. its an internal wastegate from the greddy/mitsu 15g turbo

hook compressed air up to the vacuum line and blast it.. listen/feel for the valve to move
