My car is being screwey. Help! :(
I threw in my new BKR7ES-11 plugs from my old ngk race plugs of the same heat range. And put my btm on. I have timing in boost about .90% retarded. Stock base timing. Settings are 1000 - 37 2000 -37 3000 -36 4000 -35 5000 -35 5500 -356000 -34 6500 -34. The car leaves a hella black smoke cloud in boost, and on my a/f gauge is constantly really really rich. Pulled the plugs tonight and theyre white on the insulator and part of the porcelin the rest is black. How could I be lean? Only cylinder one is white, the rest of the plugs are gray. I will post pics if needed.
Im getting tuned soon but gotta hold up until I get everything settled.

your prolly just running really rich. try -40 accross the board. see if the smoke gets less.
did it do this before you ran the hack. or is this the only way you have run it.
no for the plugs. checking plugs only shows you how the engine was last running. so basicly at idle. if you really wanna check your plugs at boost. hit boost then shut your car off, pull over and pull the plugs.
platinum.

what manifold you running? if it's external wg on #1 that's why #1 is different. did you take a full throttle run and immediately check the plugs with out idling down? if you wait to shut off the car until you stop your car will go extremely lean when your ecu shuts off the injectors. you can also be running too hot. maybe try running 1 step colder??

Re: (scttydb411)
Well this is the only way ive run it. And yeah I do beleive its because of richness making me hot because I know im not lean heh. Gonna try gettin some leaner settings. Im running 2 stage colder plugs already. And no this was after letting the car idle down. If anyone has any other info im looking for any advice.

Im gonna try the new leaner settings.. going to do 1k -38, 2k -38, 3k -37, 4k -36, 5k -36, 5.5k -36, 6k -35, 6.5 -35 which were suggested to me and check the plugs and see what happens. Hopefully its just running hot from the richness.
