Default Recent Problem with AFC Hack!!!

This morning I was letting my car warm up and everything was normal. About 45 sec. after it started though, the car started to vibrate, the idle got very lumpy, and the engine wouldn't rev hardly at all. It sounds like its running on only 3 cylinders and the A/F guage(for what its worth) is reading lean.

I am running a rev-hard kit on the afc hack with dsm 450's. I am thinking either an injector is bad, or could something possibly have come undone with the resistor box?

Any Ideas or help is appriciated, as I am at school and really dont have access to check things out myself.

Thanks,
Craig

I dont think it would be the rring lands, I havent driven the car hard in the past 4 weeks, since I have been at school, and I have forged Pistons and rods. I am thinking it has to do with the injectors, but I dont know how I would test that theory out.

You say the car warmmed up with no problem, then it started to studder?

Have you pulled the plugs to see if they're fouling? Possile vacuum leak?

It wasn't completely warmed up, it was the first time the car was turned on of the day and it had run and idled fine for about 45 sec to a min before the problem started. I'll check the vacuum line. Thanks

The only check engine lights are the ones I have had since I started to use the hack. Code 13....Map Sensor, and Code 45 To lean/rich.

Thanks for all of the replys so far.

My ecu connector snaps in loose and sometimes my injector #3 gets bad contact so when I start the car its only running on 3 cylinders but it always trips code 16(i think its 16) for injectors right away. If it was a bad injector I dont think it would run fine for 45 seconds and then do it and if its wiring it will trip a code. I would reset the ecu and look into why it is tripping the map sensor and rich lean codes. I have setup several cars with the hack and none tripped any of these codes when properly tuned.

Well, I went to the car and checked all the vacuum lines, and wiring and found nothing. Then I tried to start the car just to see, and it started and ran fine. I let it idle for a few min and the problem didn't return.

On the other hand I opened the hood, and ther was a very loud fast ticking noise, that seemed to be coming from the injectors. After seeing this i am lost and I am afraid to drive the car. What could this be?

reset your codes completely and start it. if its still throwing code 3 you have a problem.

Well today, I reset the ECU and the codes havent come back. I have only driven to school and back about 3 miles, but its been ok so far. I am curious as to why i had the problem just suddenly and now its gone away.

if you throw a code often time it will act as accordingly to those symptoms, even if the problem has been corrected. then when you reset the codes and they go away, the solutions will be cured.

Well, the only thing about that, is I had driven the car with the same cel's for about a month daily and even to the track. It ran fine the whole time, then the other day the problem. I checked the codes about every day and just the same ol ones. I would reset the ecu and they would just come back a few miles down the road.

Thanks for the help so far,
Craig

happened to me a few times

1. check spark plug wire connection (happened yesterday)
2. check fuel injectors(that one had me very confused when my fuel injectors died)
3. check plugs for being fauled.
