Low power on b20b???
Ok I've been seeing people make 240-270 on 7 psi with the generic t3/t4 eBay turbos on b20's
I made 220whp 215wtq on a dyno jet
On 7 psi I made 188 while on my single cam I made 190 on the same turbo and boost
Engine compression is good
Runs great
Maybe dyno is off??
Here Is the video
I will be slapping on my holset h1c soon

Re: Low power on b20b???
What are the specs of the t3/t4? Is it the 50tim? looks like boost falls of early, but still looks about right i think. Im PLANNING on making 300whp at 15psi with a garrett 57trim w/ .63 A/R. On the street i plan to run 7-8psi and would expect numbers close to that.
What other mods are done to it?
Im NO pro so im sure somebody will correct me.

Get a Vtec head and you will be much happier with Power output. Youre stopping at 6.5 k now so it seems about right. Maybe slighlty low for 12psi tho

Re: Low power on b20b???
It's one of those voodoo boost controllers, and the motor is stock
That's why there is no vtec head
I didn't want to take apart a motor with 50,000 miles on it to replace the rod bolts so I could rev higher, all my couplers are pretty tight
The turbo is internally gated
And yeah it's the .50 turbo
What are the thoughts on the holset h1c on this car
My tuner said it would make more power in the same boost level because of the Cfm of the turbo

Re: Low power on b20b???
You can use other setups as a benchmark for your own, but not every setup is going to make the same power per psi, even with the same turbo. As a setup's efficiency improves, it will make the same power with lower boost. For example, running 1" intercooler piping versus running 3" intercooler piping changes the amount of flow but both instances might can have the same pressure. PV=nRT
Your AFRs look inconsistent and boost pressure looks wavy...new boost controller and another tune, maybe with a different tuner.

Schister66 is right about the boost pressure and afrs.
Is this a b20b?
As far as the rodbolts I was under the impression that all the nonvtec b18/b20's used the same ones. At least the arp replacement studs are the same.

It is a b20b im not running a o2 sensor so yes the afr is a bit jumpy
And they do use the same arp rod bolts but you are supposed to get the rods re-sized when you do rod bolts
And I dot want to take apart the engine

Re: Low power on b20b???
The eBay turbos just don't make the same power and real turbos do and a 50 trim eBay turbo is smaller than a real 50 trim. Also alot of other variables like ambien temps and humidity as well as exhaust size etc that play a role in power output with any given setup

Re: Low power on b20b???
You all might laugh at this. 3 days after the tune my car starte to sound funny
I had one bolt holding my turbo on, 2 fell out and one snapped so im going back for a re-tune cause I'm running leaner in boost then I was so I might make more power
