Turbo choices, need help T3 60-1 or SC61, what is the difference?
I have a 9 to 1 compression built LS/VTEC motor that will push 450 to 500whp tuned with 20 plus pounds of boost on C16( with my Zydne Gold ecu). I will drive daily at 12 to 15 psi on 94 octane pump gas. I have already bought a T3 60-1 with a .63 exh housing. Is it worth the upgrade? I have yet to use it, its brand spanking new. But is the performance increase for my needs justifiable? I have been looking high and low for dyno sheets with just a turbo change like this to do a comparison on but i don't think those dyno sheets exist. How much more hp will the SC61 give over my T3 60-1? The T3 60-1 i hear isn't as efficient as the Precsion unit at lower boost levels which i will never be using so please shed some light on this for me please.

Im pretty sure the sc61 is a better turbo throughout the entire band. I know hybrid901 was running a 60-1 and he said the sc61 pulled a great deal harder... if i remember correctly I think the car leaned out 3 or 4 tenths on his wideband at the same boost level.
But for your situation I benlieve i would just try the turbo you have for now. Its capable of 500whp and thats your goal so i say give it a try. good luck for a fellow DA

Re: (turbopimp)
I really want the SC61 but the cash flow situation isn't saying much (especailly being in Canada with our dollar valve). I gotta send my Buick over to Louch's over the winter for a rollcage (sick of being told to slow it down or go home at the track). So i think i am going to leave well enough alone for now. But if i get some lute between now and spring i'll do it. Part of me feels like selling my entire turbokit and going ape **** on my GN. Then reality kicks in and slaps me in the face, and says," ya right".
