I was wondering how much power could reasonably be made on a Turbonetics T3 ar .42/.46.
On a stock-ish b16, just bolt ons, type r cams, IM, and TB. with 550cc injectors. Thanks for the help.

Does running more boost pressure on a small turbo increase the chance of detonation rather than a big turbo on less boost running the same CFM?

When it comes to reliability in terms of heat, you would want to run the least amount of boost to make the power you want. For example, I have a t3 super 60 that flows less than a t3/t04e 47 trim. I could make roughly 200whp off of 10psi, whereas with the super 60 I would have to run more boost. More PSI = more heat. High heat/EGT's leads to detonation.

PSI dont always translate into a specific HP simply because every setup is different. When I was running a T3 .60/.48 I was at 8psi when I made about 210whp (untuned) on a B16 with thick Cometic HG That should help you get a ballpark number for your question.

No idea about the sizes of the wheels INSIDE the .42/.46 housings? That is going to be a big help in determining power output better than simply a boost level.
