Default limit of d16a6 head??

Hey guys, I'm kinda stumped here. These are the basic mods I've done to my car and I'm looking for about 300 horsepower out of my d16a6.

srp pistons 9.5 c/r
eagle rods
valve job/guides
full gasket kit
arp head bolts

The only concern I have is that my head will not be able to rev high enough to actually use a big enough turbo with the 6500 red line. W

I don't want to invest in a new valvetrain...thats way too much money and I know I could swap a vtec head but I just put this engine together and got head work done on it.

What do all you a6 guys do about you're rev limit?
Will I be able to hit close to 300 with this setup?
What turbo would you recomend?

Just feeling a little bummed about my 6500 red line...

Thanks,

Joe

Easy flow 300whp, stock redline is 6800rpms isn't it? T3/T4 hybrid will easily do what you want..

You probably will see full boost around 4000rpms my JDM a6 redlines at 6800 I get 15psi a little after 4000rpms more like 4500rpms but it begins spooling around if not under 3000rpms. Its good fun think about it you aren't making bugger all power down low N/A anyway...

yeah that doesn't sound too bad...i want to make sure i buy a big enough turbo to support my 300 (maybe a little more ) goal. So I think I'll go with about a 50 trim t3/t4 and down the road do up my valvetrain with some isky stuff.

What trim is your t3/t4?

Thanks for tha help.

50 trim would be good, I actually have a ball bearing ihi vf22. But was going to go done that road so have looked into similar setups.

T3/T4 50 trim is perfect for your goal. I will be using a Precision SC50 (basically same as T3/T4 50 trim) and I am aiming for 300-350whp. You could probably safely adjust your redline to 7000rpm on the stock head.
