Default JRSC questions and yes I did a search

Okay, I have been have struggling with this situation: I am half a year away from graduating and I don't know what my future financial situation will be like. I originally thought to go turbo with my GS-R but I hear that turboing can create more headaches than rewards. I know the basics behind turboing and supercharging but if it came down to tuning it, I haven't a clue. So my question is this: Should I supercharge the GS-R (the "safer" option than turboing) or should I save my money for a few years and buy a RSX Type-S (or by that time maybe Type R?) and then make it the badass? My GS-R is a daily driver, and I don't want to risk it being in the shop every few months with turbo problems. Will I be safer with a supercharger? What kind of times could I expect with a JRSC? Oh and I also worry about finding a mechanic who will know what the hell to do with a turbo kit if I went turbo. I live in Wichita, Ks. Not exactly a lot of turbo and supercharged Integras and Civics running around. Thanks.

Leave it stock then.

Supercharger or Turbocharger. Both can create problems.

What you need is a Muffler and CAI.

Is supercharging less of a headache than turbocharging though? Do both really have equal amounts of risk?

I like to think so.

an eaton blower @ 6psi might last longer then a Turbo that will most likely need rebuilding before the eaton.

So my best bet would be a supercharged daily driver and a turbocharged weekend warrior. Anyone beg to differ?

sounds like you should go with supercharger and bolt ons, intake, headers, exhaust and then some tranny (clutch, flywheel) and suspension work. just remember to change the belt every 20k miles

Sounds good to me, now I just need to start looking for an RSX and research parts for it.
