Id rather have the turbo kit. Supercharges just dont make that much HP on hondas.

After owning a JRSC and now a DRAG turbo. There are lots of things i liked about the SC. The only reason i switched was to fill the need for more power. If lots of power is what you want then turbo is the only way to go.
If you want around 210whp the the JRSC if fine and makes a great daily driver.

a lot of people here down the JRSC, but for a GSR, it's a really nice setup. I've done countless number of them here in FL, and all run very strong (210-225hp to the wheels), reliable, and turn in fast times (13.8-13.5) on street tires. It's a nice setup, gives you great drivability. But for all out power, the turbo is going to be your better bet.

thanks for the info John, is anyone in or around the Houston area that knows a reputable tuner that is experienced with the JRSC and hondas? or at least a reputable tuner that is experienced with hondas?

I say no to greddy turbo kits.. if u want smog legal i guess its cool but ive never seen greddy turbo integras run good times or put out good #'s.. the SC is great if want something u wont have to mess with but ultimatly if u want to go fast u need turbo..

Gotta disagree with you DIRep972, i have the greddy kit and with nothing special done to my car I have done a 12.3 at 111.11mph weighing in at about 2800lbs.

um.. Trust-GSR (i think that's his login), ran 12.9s with his JRSC'ed GSR on the 6psi Pulley. Which is pretty damned impessive.. WIth the JRSC, I think the main problem is fuel...it needs to be tuned right, not rich.

This is how I see it. I ain't jumpin' on the band wagon on which force induct is better and what not but I recommend doing some research which will benefit you in the long run. Our HONDA motors aren't bulletproof in the first place and wasn't designed for force fed but it can be build from the bottom to top with greater potential. Each car is different and really depends on the driver how well the car does in a quarter and how well the car produces power.

how about this set-up, jrsc at 6psi with an 75-80 shot of nos..would be a good set-up and could this get you into the 12's, just wondering..

Puffy for street races if you like to win off the line then Supercharger is your best way. If you like quarter miles and drag turbo is the way for top end good luck.

I have a 97 GSR and want something that will be reliable, and also looks good, I know turbos are not very reliable esp if you up the boost, thats why I want to go with greddy setup. I heard great things about greddy unlike its price. Another option for me is Fmax but I have not heard anything about fmax. Anyone know if its a better turbo then greddy? I am not going drag just bc everyone jumped on that gb they had couple month back and from what I understand now, it wasn't such a "great" deal for the money. Again, I could be wrong but sounds to me like drag has a lot of problems with their turbo that they need to work out...
