Default JRSC please help.

Hello everyone,

I am currently having some problems with my JRSC.... i have recently installed a b20 crank pulley and it gave me 9psi of boost....... it was workin fine for me for about 5 days and then all of a sudden the next morning i when i go to work i notice that my car feels a little slugish.. and then see that im only getting about 7psi of boost............
none of my belts were loose, and i could hear no pinging or ticking out of the ordinary (fearing that i had done some damage to the motor itself)..........

Could anyone give me some advice or tips to help me figure out why im losing boost?

Thank you for yor time.

Double check your timing, maybe distributor bolts were loose and timing changed on you? Also, make sure your belt routing is correct, let us know.

do a compression test, make sure your idler pulley spin freely, make sure the blower spins freely, then go from there. good luck

I would retension your belts anyway. When was the last time you replaced the SC belt?

i had just installed a new blower belt and crank-to-alternator belt when i put on the b20 cranlk pully.......... so the belts are good....... ill try to re-tighten them, but they felt pretty tight....

ill also do a compression test as soon as i can...

vac line = vaccume hose?

thanks for the tips guys ill let u guys know how it all turns out once i get all this stuff checked..

So you put new belts on 5 days ago?

Ill put money on belt tension. They have heated up thoroughly and expanded, and need to be retensioned.

U are correct my friend........ the belts were the cause of the loss of boost.....here is the thing...the belt that i got which was cross-referenced through NAPA, had ribs which were pretty fat and not tapered at all....... unlike the origanal belt which had ribs which was tapered...and it seems that i can tighten the **** out of it but i still cant get full boost...... so im thinking that the ribs in the new belt are too fat and won't fit in the pully's grooves....... or im not tentioning it enough (which im pretty sure i was tentioned good enough).. and/or i need a friend to help put more tention on it as i tighten the bolts (since i did the tensioning on my own.)....

...... also some of my wiring for the relay got fried because they became loose and were laying on my blower... but that is fixed.
