Default JRSC bypass?

I know this is probably a stupid question. What would happen if I removed the boost bypass from my JRSC'd 99 civic dx? How bad is boost at idle? I only ask this because the used kit I just bought seems to have a broken bypass valve.(I haven't installed it yet but reeeeaaaaallllly want to) I'm waiting to hear back from Jackson to see if they sell them seperately.

you'll put a lot of stress on your engine. Boost at idle = bad.

What if I left it partially open? All the time. Untill I got the new one?

It's the black plastic "can" that opens the bypass throttle body under vacuum. Inside, as far as I can tell without breaking it open, there's a rubber seal, and some kind of spring. And a rod that conects to the bypass TB. The point inside the valve where the rod attaches to is broken off. Leaving a hole, and no pull on the rod when under vacuum. There's also a small tear in the rubber seal. So again no vacuum. Just a nice leaking whistleing noise when I hooked it up to see if it would work.

If I leave it partially open, with 0 boost at idle, would I still have a little boost at throttle?
I haven't installed the SC yet and was really hoping to this weekend. Since I may not have time to next weekend.

Then you wouldn't have boost at anytime.

After removing the valve, you can simply zip tie the bypass butterfly plate open and the engine would just run like normal and perhaps a max. of .5 psi of boost during WOT.

Call JR directly. They should be able to sell you that part no problem. Dont bother trying to install it untill you get a working one. It would be next to impossible to swap it out once the SC in on the car. Trust me on that one.
