How many @#$%&* check valves does it take?
I've got five goddamn check valves teed off my MAP vacuum line and I'm still getting the CEL . Do they make larger diameter check valves than these stupid fish tank ones?
Edit: Thanks for all the replys guys. I think I figured it out. I just hooked up the turbo and I'm running an open downpipe and dumptube. I read today that without any restriction on the exhaust pipe, the excess exhaust never goes out the dumptube spinning the turbo to higher pressures than the wastegate should theoretically allow. Thus I'm overcoming the ability of five check valves to dump boost and throwing a CEL. No wonder my car was pulling so hard.

Here is an easier and better solution.
http://www.importparts.com
missing link map bypass. Its only like $60 bucks. If not then I guess its time for some more check valves!

I laughed when I saw the aquarium hardware check-valve clusterfuk that drag includes with their kit...
Missing linknly way to go!

check valves break easily too if i remember hearing correctly. just get the billet check valve missing link thingie and save yourself time and possibly money. after a few years the plastic check valves will prolly cost more then the billet one?

You may want to double check and make sure it's the MAP sensor code and not something else. I've never seen more then 2-3 of the most ghetto check valves get the job done...

Agreed -
1) make sure it's a MAP code
2) make sure you're resetting the ECU each time you add a check valve
3) make sure you add check valves in parallel and pointing the right direction

those electronic ones screw up map input. they lock it to a fixed voltage.
what they REALLY should do is lock it to the current voltage of the baro sensor in the ecu... else the car will perform weird at different altitudes!

ahah yeah, if you have + fuel set on an afc it will make the map voltage too high and trip the cel...
