Default How does the boost cutoff work on hondata?

Yesterday after putting in a highflow cat I took my car for a test drive. After doing a 2nd to 3rd shift I noticed a cel. I pulled over and it read code 10. I figured since I have a slight problem with boost creep and I replaced my test pipe with a cat that I must have hit the boost cutoff. I was wondering if someone could explain how it works and what it does exactly.

Thanks,
Jimmy

code 10 is:

IAT Sensor (Intake Air Temperature) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor

for boost cut.. i don't think hondata can control boost, you'd need boost controller for that.

Hondata does indeed have a boost cut feature. i cant remember if it cuts fuel or spark though. I think it see's the voltage from the map sensor and if it exceeds what you have it set for it will cut then . i believe with hondata it cuts fuel though.

i thought thats just called fuel cuttoff. same thing i had on non-boost version of hondata, unless it cuts fuel according to boost level. i think its much safer to have an additional device to maybe cut ignition or best boost cut, i run 3psi spring and my boost cuts at 10-11psi.. its overboost feature on my boost contorller.

Exactly what it does and it doesn't harm anything. I have hit it many times.

HOw did you fry your bottom end due to fuel cut? No fuel, no explosion.

I said i hit boost cut once i think , it just so happens thats the run my motor blew, wa sit due to that ? that answer will never be found out. it prob ran too lean and detonated. but it sure as **** felt like boost cut to me .and my log didnt go past the set boost cut? so i dunno . it prob doesnt pertain to this. so ill leave it at that. i just dont trust anything pulling fuel

So once you hit the cutoff it cuts fuel and just lights up. I hit again today, but had my b/c set at 8psi and my cut off is 11psi. This might be part of the hiccup problem I have with the hondata.

how would you hit Boost cut if your BC is set for 8psi and the hondata is set for 11psi ?

I was set at 15psi with hondata and then put on a full 3" exhaust and new intake manifold...Took it for a spin and hit the 20psi mark and hondata shut it down. I thank God for that too. I had to turn my boost controller down a bit due to the increase in exhaust flow. for hondata boost limit feature.

The guys at hondata think my hiccup problem is due to a noisy MAP senor. If my b/c is reading 8 and the map sensor is picking up something different like 11 then I would throw a code. But who knows? Maybe I'll figure it out one day.
