Default Explain Hondata boost cut/limiter

Can somebody please explain to me how the Hondata boost cut/limiter thing works?

Say for example I set my boost controller to 7psi and my Hondata boost cut to 7.5psi. How does the Hondata keep it from going to 8psi?

TIA

It cuts fuel. Just like the rev limiter.

Is it just the map sensor reading that causes this, or are there other factors that will trigger boost cut to engage? I've got a problem where boost cut is engaging even through I've got it disabled in the ROM
