how do boost controllers help?

Default how do boost controllers help?

besides being able to turn up and down the boost, what else do they do?

i've heard people saying that their car felt better once they got a boost controller, but why would it fell better?

Couple of things,
1) You can only turn boost up with a boost controller, not down.
2) It felt better because they were running more boost.
3) Now it may have felt better because (I think) the way a boost controller works, is it doesn't let the wastegate see any boost until it gets to the amount you set it at. With the way a wastegate works, it slowly opens to fully open, so it leaks a little on the way to full boost. But, if your MBC is hiding the boost, the wastegate stays closed the whole time until the moment it opens all the way, so you don't really have that slight leak while boosting, make sense?
