fuel supply is important in any scenario. Its more about tuning to the point where its hard to make anymore power without knocking.

the intake temps were arownd 48* - 50* C and water temp was at 93* C.

and yes its all on 92 octane gas.

so if you guys don't belive me, then you are more than welcome to call the shop http://www.intecracing.com 253-872-0872 and ask anyone that works here, and they will tell you everything about my car.

Great numbers man . I must say they are hard to believe, but I dont see any reason to not believe you. I guess what will prove it the most is the trap speeds your car runs at the track .

I don't doubt the power, I only doubt the fuel, and if it is 92 octane at that power level, I don't believe that there was no knock. Doing a few quick dyno pulls does not by any means mean that the motor isn't about to come apart. A built motor will handle quite a bit of detonation for a while....

so what kind of race gas are you planning to use to achieve 60+whp and 80+ lb tq over pump gas?

if this thing made 600+ on pump gas 92 octane with no injection, no additives, no nitrous, nothing.

please tell me your ignition timing at 28 psi?

as tony said, the numbers seem right for 28 psi....but on race gas.

id also like to see a picture of your plugs....

id find it awfully hard to believe you can achieve this on pump gas without detonation/preignition.

ha ha nice try. no race gas here. they look like they are cuz of the shitty camera, these plugs have been in my car for about three races and two dyno sesions.

Ok, so you obviously weren't checking the plugs for detonation on the dyno, because you can't read anything from old plugs anyways. How did you determine that it was not knocking?

That is crazy for pump gas and only 92 octane , I might say it could happen on like 100-103 unleaded

I use the Apex-i Power Fc for ecu, as I have for about 6 years. The power fc had the feature of showing at what boost and rpm it knocks and how much. For every cell on the 20x20 map, you will get that certain cell that will light up green to show you if it knocks. You can then click on that cell and find out what the knock reading was. So from there on you can adjust your fuel or ignition to help lessen the detonation at that point(s).

The power fc its an awosome tunning tool, that most people don't give it enough credit. Its a full plug and play ecu.

Ever pull the plugs after a pull and check them?

I've used the power fc plenty, and as far as i know there is no adjustable knock threshold or anything, right? I guess you have alot more faith in a honda knock sensor on a built motor than i do. I usually go through a couple sets of plugs during a tune cause i'm pulling them after every pass. I've never had a B series go much over 450whp w/o showing detonation on the plugs. I don't believe that you made it 150 more hp w/o seeing any. When it comes down to it, i believe the power and the boost, just not the gas. But whatever, i'm sure you don't care if any of us believe you or not. Good luck with the car.

The power fc has a treshold setting. And I did talk to the guys from Apex-i when I took their tunning class, and asked them about what the number of the knocking means and what is really knocking or just a noisey engine. I never said that there was no knockin at all, cuz at any rpm or load there is some kind of reading from the knock sensor. But that does not necessarelly means that the engine is detonating.

As well as you might allready know, the knock sensor is just a microfone that is calibrated to pick up certain noise level. so as fas as my faith in the Honda knock sensor, it only goes to a certain point. I also lissen to determine any kinds of detonation occures while dynoing. I know its hard to hear detonation on the dyno, but not imposible.

And its not that I don't care if you guys belive me or not, cuz I do care, but I really have no reason to lie to you guys. Unlike other people, I have no problem with sharing my knowledge when it comes to the honda enthusiasts.

Why dont i hear of more people using a mechanical knock listening device when tuning hondas? Here is the one I made and it works well

I just don't understand the 150whp discrepency between when 98% of tuners see detonation and onefstek.

What am i missing?
