HELP me make the right boosted b20/vtec decisions...needs some reassurance here
I have a 2k SI and want to do a boosted crv/vtec swap. Just for my reassurance, tell me if I've got the right idea. BTW, I have read every b20 topic on this entire site and spoken to a few of the members. I just want to get my stuff straight before I start spending any money.
For legal swap reasons, technically I would need a 2000+ block (b20z), but after talking to a friend, he told me that it shouldnt matter since I'm planning to put a non-carb turbo system in anyways. Why be legal if you aren't 100% legal...right?
Engine wise, I have a b16a2, so I intend on using everything from this engine but the short block. So, the only thing I really need is to find a crv block and have it sent to golden eagle to be sleeved, decked, bored, and honed. Buy a new oil pan gasket, girdle and all bearings. Then add some eagle rods and 85mm bore JE 9:1 pistons. Once the head is mated to the block, run an oil line from the sender location. Add a turbo kit and hondata, then I'm set to push around 14psi after some dyno tuning.
Fuel wise, I have an SX FPR, SX 1000cc pump, SX filter, and STR fuel rail. I'm looking at RC 550cc injectors. Anything else I need to consider here?
As far as the b16a2 head goes, what changes if any need to be made over stock? I have a built head with ferrea 1mm oversized valves, ferrea valve guides, eibach/crower dual 10k rpm spings, crower ti retainers, port/polish, and 3 angle valve job. If this isn't satisfactory, I can always get another stock head.
With the b20 block, I know the CR on the b20z is higher, but is there any other difference between the b20b and b20z. Since I am changing the rods and pistons out anyways, does it really matter?
Like I said, I'm looking for some reassurance to my thought process here and want to make sure I'm headed down the right path before I start shelling out any big bucks. All input is appreciated.

I say just bore out your B16 with golden eagle sleeves to 84.5mm. You have a b16 that has a good rod to stroke ratio vs. the b20 rod-stroke.

that has been considered. I've got 2 reasons in wanting to do this swap:
1. more torque
2. I want to push 400+ hp at moderate boost levels

Well it looks like your mind has been made up then. You seem to have done all your homework so I think you are ready. If you sell your b16 let me know.

yeah, I've studied this thing inside and out. I'm just trying to make sure I have no problems with the plan. The way I typed it out almost makes it sound as simple as changing out a block and adding a turbo.

I would sleeve an LS block any day over the B20. But if you are dead set on it saying B20, then by all means please purchase an Endyn breather kit. No one else on the market makes one, and it's a quality piece. Without it, you will eventually have blow by, due to excessive crank case pressure.

also, I would go with larger injectors. Increasing the bore 4mm dictates use of substantially larger injectors. Consider msd 72lb (750cc).

I have looked into the breather kit and it is a good idea. I'll keep the 750cc injectors in mind as well. I really need to learn more about fuel and proper amounts to inject. My shop has always handled that sort of stuff for me, but I'm not getting educated as to why.

I'm from San Antonio and don't really know of any "good" import shops there. I live in OK now for school.

i need to find a good place to do a b20 set up and it bites living in SA, hard to trust people with my car. I want to build the block with eagle rods and ?? compression endyn pistons. My car has been through enough pain and i do not enjoy making car payments on a busted integra on down time.

I would personally make the drive to houston or dallas where there is a larger tuner market. I've heard that Austin has a few top notch places as well.

I think its worth the drive to save my car from any more pain and misery. Thanks for the info guys , my computer was on down time and now its running low boost but at least I can post now. Its time to enter the world of boost because its been a year and 6 months, until then I will kick back in Arturbo boost mobile and pee in my pants. A BIG RAT
