Default b20/vtec or rebuild my gsr?

so my b18c1 block has complete gone to hell. i kept hearing an absurd knocking and when i finally brought it into the shop they told me i needed a new block. luckily i was able to salvage the head and the tranny. so i guess i just needed some opinions on guys who have had the experience.

woudl it better for me to invest in a b20/vtec project or just look for a new block w/ pistons, rods and all the goodies?

thanks for the help.

just get the b20 long block and an oil line kit. you should be able to get both of them for around $700 (+/-). drop them in and your done. easy hp gain.
