how does the multistage for different boost work? they say you can set different boost for each gear. how does the system sense you are at what gear?

Re: help i got a question regarding the Innovative MSBC-1 Multi-Stage Boost ctrl (greenmonster)
it counts clutch pedal pushes.... so at the strip, you start in 1st gear & 1st stage. then as you shift (clutch in) it switches to the next stage. but if you miss a gear or something and use the clutch multiple times, but are still in second, it will just keep counting the clutch presses and will think that its in 4th or something....
so, it doesnt work very well in a street car.

this sounds fishy to me!!!!! I would think it works like a hondata. In that it sences what gear you are in dependant on engine load, vehicle speed and other ECU parameters. I can't imagine a company selling a gear dependant boost controller Like a AVC-R and it not being able to know what gear the car is in. just my .02 But I could be mistaken.
