Clutch slipping?
So i was tuning a boosted integra last night with a stock clutch. Everything was going fine until we went to tune boost. As soon as he would hit full boost in 3rd gear the car simply wouldn't accelerate much at all. Almost like a stock motor. The afr's were fine, the plugs were gapped fine so there was no spark blowout, and his timing was only about 21* at 10psi. It seemed strange that it would be so slow. I got him to let me drive the car and sure enough when shifting from 1-2nd and 2-3rd gear the clutch would slip pretty bad and was having problems catching. Also 1st gear didn't feel very slow at all and 2nd wasn't too bad either, but 3rd just felt like ****. Then i took it onto a rode with a hill and tried mashing the gas in 3rd gear. It built boost quickly, but as soon as full boost hit the clutch slipped horrible and the engined quickly revved out to about 6500 rpms while the car didn't accelerate at all until it finally caught and slowly revved out to redline.
Has anybody had their clutch slip like this before where the car would just feel slow as ***** in the higher gears and kind of not want to rev out? I know obviously it was making more power than what it felt like to cause the clutch to slip like that.

Sounds like a slipping clutch to me. I have had this happen to me before, not in a turbo Honda but with the same exact symptoms. You see the car build boost and then the tach starts shooting up without the car going anywhere. How much power were you trying to get the stock clutch to hold?
Well the thing that worries me is not the tach shooting up like that, but how sometimes it will rev out almost normal, but the car will be slow as dog ****. Almost like the clutch is barely catching. This is on an integra boosting 8psi...probably about 220-240whp so not too much power, but more than the stock clutch will . As soon as it hits full boost it feels like a turd. Anywhere else it feels great. Sometimes the clutch slips altogether like you said though so i know something is definintly up with the clutch.
He is replacing the clutch in a week so hopefully it will fix this. It kills me how sometimes people don't buy very important parts of their turbo setups
