Default Boost by gear question s300

Ok so I've searched and searched and can't seem to find the answer im looking for, ok so question is my car is tuned to 20psi in 4th gear with a duty cycle of 45% but 45% won't make 20psi in third gear in the boost by gear table so can I up the duty cycle past the original fixed cycle of 45%

Are you sure you have the setting correct so that the by gear is activated and not set on duty cycle only? Also the tables have to be adjusted, whats this means is in that little scale where is says x duty is y psi you have to tell the ecu that 45% is 20 psi. and if you want less boost you have to adjust accordingly,

For example if 10psi was 35% duty then in that scaler you have to write that and then put 45% is 20 psi and the ecu will interpolate between the two and give you what you rlooking for. thats if you select gear based target boost. thats the one i like to use as ive always had best results with it.

if your doing gear based duty cycle and its at 45% and not giving you 20 psi in third gear then there is somethign wrong. Are you losing traction in third? this will cause les load on engine and not reaching desired bost pressure.

click fixed duty cycle and put 35% see what you get for pressure then input that into the gear by duty table in third and see if you obtain the same pressure. if you do then it could be traction loss if you dont then add a couple percent till you find what your looking for

yes its set to gear based and the tables work fine as far as increasing and decreasing boost and yes it does spin in third i will have to just data log third gear on slicks and see what its doing

take some boost out of third gear then, spinning making maximum power isnt any good, better of backing it out 100hp and hooking up

ive started using gear based duty cycle. much more detail in the adjusting rather than using that stupid table lol

I've had issues with my car when trying to run the gear based duty cycle, dont know why but its broken my stones so just went with gear based target and havent had any issues

45% may yeild 20psi in fourth but not in third. Fourth gear obviously will have more load so you may need to pulse the solenoid harder to reach target boost, just play with it till you figure out how much duty cycle you need in third to reach your target... we don't use the gear based target boost because the table is still based on duty cycle so its more calculations for the ecu to make and it leaves more room for human error. If you have your table setup so 45%=20PSI than you will end up needing to turn the target psi up in third to reach your target so in the end you will have the same problem...also you need to keep an eye on your boost gauge depending on you area and weather changes 45% could yield 20psi on a hot day and 22psi on a cold day so depending if your already pushing the envelope on your engine or fuel combo you need to be carefull.

I agree... that table is worthless its just more to do and you end up with the same results. I think the duty cycle method is more precise also.
