Let me be clear, if you don't have an FMU as fuel management, you can't use a Vafc to correct your fuel and also have a missing link. You must remove the missing link.

i don't think i understand...
Let me be clear, I was under the impression that this kid only had stock injectors and now it turns out that he has 450s, afc, fmu and a missinglink. I think i already said this once and i'm gonna say it again... all you need is an afc and 450s wired in correctly and you are set... all that other crap your "tuner" conned you into buying is not needed.
it dosn't sound like your familier with this set up... its called a AFC HACK, which conssist of running 450cc injectors or larger and using the afc to trim the fuel down under normal non boosted drining.
i repeat... afc hack does not need FMU and missinglink
EDIT: and yes, spark plug gap is very important... matter of fact, go check them and get back to us.

it's NOT the hack. it's a straight-to-the-book wire up. i was getting CELs like a ************ until i got the missing link. no CELs since. this is the same set up i was running with my LS. i recently swapped in a GSR motor and i am now experiencing this problem.
well i'm not really following you... as far as i know there is only one way to wire up a afc. My guess is that if you are running 450s the afc is already used to trim fuel down otherwise your car won't even start... and if thats the case its probably just a tuning issue.
good luck...
Edit: i know that the afc works the way it does by manipulating the map signal, while the missing link bleeds off any positive pressure... in addition of a rising rate fmu dumping fuel during boost. Thats a combonation for poor throttle response to say the least.

i don't have an FMU. but yeah, the throttle response isn't so great.

This guy ^ knows what he's talking about
Ditch the FMU and Missing Link. Im curious to know if your 450's are DSM injectors, because you will need a resistor box. In my experience the HACK has worked great....6 months on in the Hack and have not ran into any problems (Knocks on Wood).

wth. It made sense when soemoen said you were running FMU, missing link, stock fueling system and VAFC for fien tunnig, but now you also ahve 450's? why do you ahve all this stuff miced up lol. I can understand correcting intot eh negatvies via AFC sicen you're running 450's. but witht eh FMU even at -20 that is still way rich. jsut stick with one type of tuning. you have two kinda jumbled in there together. Who put together your turbos etup?
your fuel setup is ridiculous. Get rid of the damn missing link if you already have 450cc injectors. It also may be a good idea to ditch that vafc for a better form of managment.
you were proll getting a cel without the missing link because you didnt trim enough map out with the afc...your juss running way too rich to have your car feel like its hitting a wall...ditch the missing link...set the values on the afc to around -35 or -40 and come back and tell us if it either runs good or blows up

The AFC IS the hack. Listen to the man...

Also, check your plugs and plug wires. You may just be misfiring, running too much timing, or have fowled plugs.
